Anyone who wants and Aqua based Firefox , without having to put up with Camino, download Minefield, the Firefox 3 alpha final. I'm using it almost exclusively, and it's very stable. Some rendering issues on some websites, but extremely rare.

Firefox it is! I've tried almost every browser I've heard of, but Firefox is just almost perfect.

I've gone w/ Firefox over Safari for some little things:

Moving the pointer over folders on the bookmarks toolbar automatically opens them in FF, not in Safari where you have to click on each one. The ability to drag tabs around in FF thanks to a plug-in. And the simple ability to alphabetize bookmarks, an obvious use that's not in Safari.

That reminded me of a question I keep forgetting to ask: I have one bookmark that is out of order (alphabetically) and cannot get it into the correct place. Have tried drag and drop but to no avail. Is there something I need to do (special) to get this back into true alphabetical order??

iMac: CD 2.0GHz, 2GB, 250GB, SuperDrive, 20" MacBook: CD 2.0GHz, 1GB, 60GB, SuperDrive, White
Used to use FireFox but have goten into Safari now so I can get used to it before using WebClip, etc. in Leopard.

On the latest Safari 3 Beta and it's very nice. The effect when you drag tabs to make new windows is very nice and the updated 'Find' function is slick.

Whatever you choose, do NOT go with the new version of Shiira because it is completely unstable (crashes easily), has a lousy search function (will only find something if there is more than one occurrence of it), is incredibly slow if you open even three windows. I really don't think it was ready for release. The only redeeming feature is the full screen version, but that too is faulty.

-Firefox is quite bulky for a mac user who is probably used to aesthetically streamlined applications.
-Safari continues to be the best in my opinion, and the new beta version is faster than ever.

PowerBook G4 1.67Mhz Hi Res - 2gig RAM, 100g 7200 HD + Pismo G3 400Mhz - 512mb RAM, 30g HD
I use Firefox on my main Mac (G4 PB 1.67) but Safari beta seems to run a little quicker and the pages scroll MUCH faster on my older mac (Pismo) particularly when there are some flash stuff on the pages. I've also tried Camino which I liked.

Assuming this is a Firefox bookmark, not a Safari, go to Manage Bookmarks in the menu bar and try making a right-click copy and pasting it in the proper place.

Firefox should accept it as a duplicate, after which you can delete the original. But if it won't accept it as a duplicate, copy the URL from the problem bookmark, paste the URL in a TextEdit doc or somewhere else to save it just in case, then try a right-click cut and paste instead of copying it.
