I didn't get that when I read it much earlier this morning. At first I thought it was a typo. Then I read Ian's post this morning and got it immediately.

I guess most of heard of the visiting German who dropped into an English bar during his travels and asked the bartender for a martini.
The bartender asked him if he would like it dry.

He kindly replied, ,"Nein danke, just one."

Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings and Good Health to all. And keep and stay safe. 😉

Rudolf Schwarz gave an Xmas party to which he also invited the Russian ambassador, Ivan. Rudolf and his wife got chatting to Ivan who suddenly looked out of the window and said "It is raining!" Rudolf looked and said "No, it's snowing!" Rudolf and Ivan got into an argument about it, until his wife took him gently by the elbow and murmured, "Rudolf, the Red knows rain, dear"

Whether you love them or hate them, the Art of the Pun should not be underestimated as it takes skill to craft comical wordplay that can make people laugh and cringe at the same time.
One group to master the art of funny puns, is the Indian Hills Community of Colorado, who've been making regular punny roadside signage to the delight of everyone ...

The man behind the jokes is Colorado native and volunteer at the community center, Vince Rozmiarek. He made his first sign as an April Fools prank and has never looked back.

With the aim to make people laugh, Rozmiarek puts up a sign with a new pun or joke a couple of times every week.

Ice Cream. That’s okay.

You scream, the police come.

Not sure, but that was my take on that one.

yeah, that's what I thought too, but it didn't seem funny like the others.

I think it's
I scream (in delight? in fear?)
You scream (at me? IN fear? In delight?)
(The neighbors hear and call the police because they are worried/annoyed)
The Police come (to check on everything).
It's awkward (because you have to explain the screaming, might be naked, whatever).

My first thought was that it's a play on something you used to hear from kids regularly:
"I scream."
"You scream."
"We all scream for ice cream."

Yes, that is the (attempted) humor. You think it's headed for that but then it turns on you.

Humor explained is never funny.

I have seen a lot of these "puns" on social media, and the ones from this source are normally very good, and quite amusing, however occasionally, there is one I either don't find funny, or don't get, I just, move on.

Lots and lots of folks don't like puns. Some don't 'get' them, and others just consider them too low a form of humor. Personally I like almost all forms of humor. But different people have different senses of humor. it's really nice to be able to laugh.
