The great Stan Rogers' "NorthWest Passage" (Canada's "alternate" National Anthem!)
I certainly agree on this....maybe Gordie’s Canadian Railroad Trilogy might be a close second...... now if we are talking about an anthem reflecting history then I should be Un Canadien Errant

Dire Straits - Tunnel of Love (1980) Original Version Nostalgia trip with Dire Straits prompted by being asked to nominate a track for my goddaughter's 18th birthday party in June. Didn't think she'd appreciate Disturbed (these youngsters, no taste!) so chose Tunnel of Love which is about the Spanish City in Whitley Bay (UK) where we all live. The funfair is long gone but the 1910 building was refurbished in 2018 and is a major attraction with various restaurants and bars. 85487DB9-62D2-4888-B274-52A89E0C3F56_1_105_c.jpeg 95FA54B8-5D7C-49B2-A260-6FDFA0705BA6_1_105_c.jpeg

For some reason I’ve had “One Step Ahead” by Split Enz going in my head for the past couple of weeks. Don’t know where that came from.

It’s weird, but lately I can’t seem to rid myself of Triumph’s Fight The Good Fight, the live version.

the triumph doc was fantastic. Cooler since it was mostly right where I grew up. Ive set up my kit lots of times at metal works.

Max Roach's "drums unlimited" this morning followed by Kamasi Washington'S "Heaven and Earth". That and some strong coffee is enough to kickstart this Friday morning.

Just listened to Music from "The Elder" by KISS while walking.

I believe it's one of their best albums.

Groove, Triumph is one of those bands that I think are like The Cars...they had synergy. Emmett is an often overlooked and underrated guitarist and vocalist. Levine was one of the best bass players I’ve ever heard, yet he never gets a mention anywhere.

Well, that happens with bass players ;)

Though I wouldn’t say Emmet is under rated, especially after the US festival, he’s pretty cemented into the upper royalty of rock guitarists worldwide. Nicest guy in the world to boot.

What is interesting is these YouTube “Reaction Channels”... not sure if it is the algorithms but I have noticed many of our U.S. brethren have now just “found” Triumph.

Speaking of Emmett, I thought I read somewhere he is or was a music teacher...

Great music even if half of them are dead.

I'll listen to almost anything though I'm not much on hip hop, or opera. I listen to almost anything from the 1940s Big Band era onward. For the last few years I have listened to a lot of Blues.

Best Rock band is probably Rush. Blues it's B. B King.
