Welcome to the Mac-Forums Blogging Forum.

A bit of Mac-Forums blog history. The Mac-Forums blog area was active from about 2008 thru 2017...then things went quiet for a while. Now we're very excited to announce the re-launch of the Mac-Forums blog section of the website.:)

Just like with the forum section of the website...we want everyone to feel like they are more than welcome to participate in the composing & publishing of Mac-Forums blog articles. We don't want everyone to feel like the writing & publishing of blog articles is only for professional writers...and the rest of us read the articles.

We know we have many members who are very very experienced...and have lots of history & experience's to share. Blogging is all about the sharing of information. Many times when we write forum thread posts they are short replies to thoughts & questions from other members. With the Mac-Forums blog...this is everyone's opportunity to share more in depth thoughts about topics important to them...something they experienced recently...a new "toy" they just purchased...etc.

We would prefer Mac-Forums blog articles to be primarily website niche related:

* Electronics products in general.
* Apple products
* Non- Apple products
* Product comparisons.
* Product reviews.
* How to articles.
* Hardware, software, accessories, etc.
* Tips, tricks, discoveries, etc.

Primary purpose of this area is to discuss questions, ideas, etc relating to the Mac-forums blog.

Could be:

* Q&A related to the blog.
* How is this or that done.
* Blog Accounts
* Blog article topics.
* etc.

Writing blog articles can be very satisfying. Sharing information...helping others in an in depth manner...even becoming famous or infamous for the blog articles you write.:) If you decide you would like to give writing blog articles a try...please message us that you would like a blog account...and we will get you set up.

Feel free to use your Mac-Forums username...a different pen-name...or your real name.:)

Everyone has an opinion...everyone has experiences...why not share that with the rest of the Mac-Forums community...and rest of the world!(y)

Thanks:)

If interested in a writing articles for the Mac-Forums blog...you need a "Blog Account". Cannot log into the Blog area with current Mac-Forums forum login info. But you can set it up that way once you have a Blog account setup...and change your password later).

FYI. Blog accounts are only for members interested in writing Blog Articles.:)

Thanks

Well, it looks great Nick. I see there are a number of examples from 2017 and earlier which should prove good examples of what we can do and aspire to do with our own blogs.
I had a personal blog in the past but WordPress is a little more of a challenge that I think I will pick up with a little practice.
Great idea.

I'm sure I'll have some as soon as I start using it. One of the really good things about a blog as I see it, is that you don't need to publish/submit immediately. It can (I assume) be in a draft state for as long as it takes to gather references, photos, supporting articles ect.

Jump in there Rod. I know that you have a lot of experience being a retired nurse and now a small business owner in Bali. Looking forward to reading about what you've done.

Gosh, thanks, I don't know where to begin. I'm sure we all have stories to tell. Nick did say, "We would prefer Mac-Forums blog articles to be primarily website niche related." and "Primary purpose of this area is to discuss questions, ideas, etc relating to the Mac-forums blog.
If you are going to give me carte blanche well......... :ROFLMAO:

I'm sure that you can mix that blog with your experience and include what Nick stated. You've got good writing skills Rod.

I know Rod (as well as many of us) must have a ton of:

*iPhone & Apple Watch related stories/info to share (both technical related & personal related). Both positive & "ranty" sorts of info.
* Maybe stuff related to security.
* Product reviews.
* Comparing a previous Apple product vs. newer Apple product (older iPhone vs. newer iPhone for example).
* Differences between computing/iPhone-ing in Australia & Bali (cell service quality, repair options, parts options, cost comparisons, etc).
* Maybe even the occasional "I remember when..." sort of stories!;)

Remember...Mac-Forums blog topics don't need to be earth-shattering, nobel prize winning, or Tim Cook's gonna call you on your iPhone & offer you a $200,000/year job sort of articles.;)

Could be something as simple as..."Darn these smartphone sim cards keep getting smaller & smaller."

And I'm sure much much more. I'm sure we all have personal & technical related expertise & experience's to share and have no problem staying within Forum niche.:)

In case there are any questions regarding blog article length...would be nice to target a minimum of 250-300 words. Longer is no problamo.:)

So, Tim Cook is not going to offer me a six-figure job? Are you kidding me?

Don't worry Sly, when Tim sees your photo and realizes all the writing talent you have, that $200K is just a starter. :p

Nick, I have written a draft for the blog but just haven't had the time to get back to completing it. Things have been busy here recently which is good too. Rest assured I will be back to it soon.(y)
