It was made by a friend of mine entirely in Illustrator CS, I think he said it took him around 18 hours to complete. It is of Elijah Wood who I have a massive obsession over...

18 hours?!! wow, how good is this person at illustrator? (not to sound rude) there are so many ways to do this sort of stuff in photoshop, though I guess if youre not that good at the pen tool in illustrator, making something like that is a good way to learn, its pretty good though. when I first saw that desktop, I thought it was you. lol.

The cutout filter in photoshop doesn't give that kind of effect, it's easy to tell when a filter has been used because there are no completely smooth edges and colours don't match properly.

He is really excellent at using illustrator, he's on a website called DeviantART (maybe you've heard of it) and two of his images have made daily deviations, which is kind of an award saying how great your image is lol.

I really like the style of that. I've been wanting to do something similar for ages. But, alas, I do not have illustrator. Sad times, sad times indeed.

I may share my desktop as soon as I get my Mac networked. Because I really can't be bothered running up and down stairs with my memory stick. *Lazy*

I have tiger. not instaled at curtrent.
as far as guikits, you need shapeshifter to use them, and many sites offer them.
