Hello everyone!
Just popped in......I should be sleeping, I have a big day tomorrow, but...I find myself here, with my PowerBook....in my bed. I've never done that up until last week, now I realize it's SO addicting! You want to sleep, then you see that beautiful laptop sitting there.....with the glowing Apple and everything. Too bad it's a slow old Lombard otherwise I would do it more often, but i'm going to have access to a bit of money in a little bit, so maybe i'll get something "better" to say.

ANd from the sounds of it, THE PEOPLE OF M-F ARE HAVING CAR TROUBLES!

Glad i won't have that....yet.
I did get drivers training info today....my parents are a little annoyed that it's $350, since apparently there were days when that used to be free.
Then I need class ring...and a deposit for a yearbook.
School is expensive, i'm sure i have NOTHING to complain about compared to everyone else.

Anyway, my (half) sister came up to visit...she's on her spring break now.
She lives in Indiana and goes to Ivy Tech, but she's going to transfer to IPFW (Indiana Perdue University...I think the FW is for Fort Wayne i assume), and she has like no money, and her boyfriend just left for basic training for contruction something or other in the National Guard so he will not be back until mid July....which is really hard on her, in a lot of ways, especially financially since they aren't married and she's trying to pay his bills and she had a long spat with the lady at the Meijer credit care because she wouldn't let her pay money towards his card since she's not on the account....okay, they shouldn't complain when she is trying toGIVE THEM money, but anyway....I haven't seen her since christmas before wednesday, which is really hard, but she can't really afford to drive all this way, not to mention it's not really safe because her alignment is WAY off in her shadow.

And i'm seeing Horton Hears a Who Tonight!

....You never get too old for a good G rated movie.
Although some of my friends I really wanted to make it can't.
Well....one of them, he's not really a REALLY CLOSE friend, I mean he's really nice and i've known him for like a year, but i've never really gotten to KNOW him, and we are friends but not good friends. I have a hard time getting close to people, like you know how teenagers have like one or two BEST FRIENDS who they do EVERYTHING with and tell everything to and they know each others families and all that?
What's that like?
It seems nice.
Often I wish I had that, I try, but I just can't really CONNECT, it's hard to get close to people,WHEN DO YOU HAVE THE TIME!??!
With all these clubs and stuff, there is an LSD (Lowell Students for Democracy)rally today, International Club does stuff, Musical rehersals, my friend is taking a REALLY good drivers training program so she does it evey weekday....it's IMPOSSIBLE to find a day of the week where everyone is free to go see a movie.

Well....when i'm stressed, I read my quotes section on facebook, because they are all things people have said or I hav said, and they are all really funny, so i'm going to end this post with one of them.

LOL. I love quotes that are stupid and funny. Luckily, I have a lot of stupidly funny people in my life, it's just good to laugh when you are feeling BLEH.
It cheers me up.

I found out that I'm lactose intolerant the hard way. I had some pizza, first I get sour burps, then diarrhea, then I throw up and it ends. Sometimes this can happen in one day, or over one week. Cheese omlette would take a day. Pizza would be 4 days.

What would suddenly bring that on? Or was it slowly developing over years, with the symptoms only now growing to the point where they could not be ignored?

Is there any medication to prevent the symptoms, or is diet the only way to treat it?

I remember reading years and years ago that humans are alone among the species that consume milk (and, by extension, dairy products, I presume) beyond infancy. This was put forward as a reason for adult-onset lactose intolerance.

Maybe all other adult mammals are lactose intolerant. How and who could check a whale or a rhino?

I have a friend who is lactose intolerant and she can take a pill before she wants to have something with milk in it like pizza or ice cream and she has a half an hour to consume it and she won't feel any ill effects.

That's a real bummer, iRye. Read all the info available to you so you can ease through this.

A lot of people are lactose intolerant so this means there are a lot of resources available out there for anyone wanting to know all there is to know about it.

So, since I broke my mini (It was an accident, I swear!) I've been looking for a new computer. Settled on a 1.33 GHz iBook G4, but with everything I want plus the 1-2 day shipping, it's gonna be near $1000!

So, next week, I'm getting my very first job! (Hopefully) Does anyone have tips for the interviews?

Agreed, you can get the low end Macbook for very close to that and a refurbished one maybe a bit cheaper. I have that 1.33Ghz 12" iBook and love it but the Macbook would be so much nicer if I had it to do over.

Hey guys, I'm back. My training mission got cut short. Turns out I have an upper GI Bleed and I had to be medevaced out. I'll spare you the details of how I discovered this rather nasty problem. So now I get to spend vast amounts of time at the doctors office to find out whats wrong. Oh well how is everyone else doing?

$1000 is too expensive for an iBook. I sold two in great condition on eBay one went for $620. It was the 1.33GHz model and 8 months ago. Prices have dropped since then. My ex is selling her 14" 1.2GHz. I told her she could get $350 for it. I could see if I can get you a good deal for it if you want. Or just replace the mini logic board. That can't cost $1000. Maybe a job will help you realize the real worth of a $1000.

Insurance called me today. Its a total loss. But I only paid 6k for it, I'm getting a check for $8k. It will completely cover the loan, and put an extra 2k in my pocket.
