i saw that he was suspended, was wondering if anybody knew?

Only he can tell you for sure but the last few pages of this thread may have something to do with it. Also, I don't recommend bugging the mods about it as they have a policy of not publicly talking about private matters.

Hey everyone, so far it's been a pretty boring weekend. The highlight of my day today was going to get groceries with my mom. She bought me so much food I don't know if I'll be able to eat it all before it goes bad! That or I'll just simply get fat, who knows haha.

It seems as though every time I go home to my parents' house for the weekend, I end up being really bored. I don't know how to stop this from happening though since my best friend is always with his girlfriend when he comes back here also. My father just went out on a ride on his motorcycle so even HE has something to do. I feel like I could go for a drive around town, but that's just going to burn up more gas money.

What do you like to do todd51?

Do you like to read? I'm not talking about "studying" reading, but pleasure reading. There's a wealth of books you can read for free online. There's Project Gutenberg that has all manner of cool books. There's your local library through which you might lose yourself for an afternoon.

I know you're in Illinois, but don't know where. If you're in or near Chicago, there must be lots of activities happening throughout the city and 'burbs. Check out free concerts. Oooh, galleries too sometimes can be fun. When was the last time you walked the city? Check out the weekend section of your local newspaper, and if you have an arts type city tabloid paper, check that out. For example, DC has the Washington City Paper, an "alternative" paper that has listings for many activities. LA has LA Weekly. I just checked - Chicago has the Chicago Reader.

If you're in more of a rural area, there's always walks or bike rides. Look at things along the way. Go explore.

What about project where you've always said, "I don't have enough time to do it." Guess what? Here's the time. Do a little one weekend, more the next, and work at it over time.

I grok boredom. I remember it from years ago. ^_^ Still, corny as it may sound, it's pretty neat your mom took you grocery shopping. If you get along well with your parents and they get along well with you, that's really a cool thing. Enjoy it.

Think of all the things you thankful for or things that you take for granted then you'll appreciate the things around you more and then you'll find something more appealing thus keeping you entertained.....just a thought.......and theres always youtube.. ;D

mathogre, thanks for taking the time to list a bunch of suggestions! I really appreciate it. Unfortunately I used to live near Chicago when I graduated high school. I'm originally from a town (village actually) of around 1500. Once I graduated high school I decided to get out of the small town and move to the city. I went to school for about a year, but really didn't like the school I had chosen. In the end, I moved back near home to attend a four-year university closer to home. Moving near Chicago however was the greatest thing that could have happened to me. When I graduate, I hope to move back to the "burbs" and get a job around there. There are so many things to do there, and I still have good friends around that area.

I actually just got done watching a movie with my dad. He got home from his bike ride and we just relaxed and popped in the movie Casino Royale, since we're both Bond fans. Tomorrow I get to go to church with them early and then probably headed out for breakfast after that. Later on in the afternoon I'll be driving back to school. Hopefully I'll get to see my girlfriend tomorrow or Monday. I need to talk with her and find out if she's really looking for a relationship, since I'm getting these vibes that she isn't. Oh well, I'll let ya know how it goes once I finally talk to her.

Hope you all had a good night, and I expect all you baseball fans out there to be rooting for the Cubs in the playoffs starting Wednesday!! ;)

You aren't alone, Netty. It's not quite as geeky, but I got really excited over my shuffle! ;D

I've been awfully busy lately... have been missing m-f. Maybe things will calm down in a week or so, I hope!
