Greetings! I'm back in the office today. It's about 12:30PM, and looks nice outside, sunny and warm.
We played D&D last night, and I was almost killed just twice. ^_^ Bloody orcs anyway. I still have the social skills of a rock, but somehow the night went well. We had 8 people total - the guy running the game and 7 players. Two players were new, and - MHC - one was from Canada. We gather at a house about 30 miles from where I live.
I always feel so out-of-place at D&D. There are LOTS of rules and I've only been playing for two and a half years whereas these other guys have been playing for many years. I'm the one who always asks the basic simple questions to which everyone else knows the answers. I don't know all of the small talk references to all of the SF&F books, movies, and TV shows, don't play other games so I can't contribute in those side conversations. Ha! Small talk and side conversations. That's a challenge too, but it's getting easier to do. Still, I absolutely love the game and spend time learning it to play it as well as possible so that hopefully I'm not an annoyance to everyone else and that maybe I help make it fun for others. They're good guys in this gaming group overall. I can't wait until the next gaming night in two weeks.
Time to get back to code. Programming and math are so easy. It's people that are a challenge to me.
