Ok, thought I'd post an image of the cat as well - this was actually taken 2-3 years ago, I don't think there are any recent pics of the cat as it doesn't stay still for long enough - usually out killing or maiming birds, frogs, or anything else that is either not fast enough or doesn't know what the bell on the cats collar is there for!

Meet Missy - the name was derived from mischievous...

I also have pic of another dog we had* - can you post pictures of 'ex-pets' in this thread?

So it's all about cats now? I don't actually have any photos of our cat (we only got him so the dog had something to play with), but here are some I took of a friend's pride:

Here's our guinea pig, Paddington. He's a little over a year old. Both pics were done thru Photo Booth. He's probably the most hyperactive of all pigs we've had. Funny thing is that when we run him in the kitchen in the evening, he'll play incessantly with our feet but will run the instant we move our hands anywhere near him.

Do you keep Paddington in the house all the time?

A friend of mine has a relative with a house trained rabbit - when they go on holiday the rabbit stops with my friend and it comes with a cats litter tray which it uses. Whilst mentioning this to someone else they informed me that it is not so unusual - first I'd heard of it like.

Can guinea pigs be house trained also?

Hi!

I've heard of that with rabbits. We had a neighbor once who would let their rabbit outside to walk without a leash. They stayed with the rabbit while he roamed, but he was free to do whatever. Mr. Bun was his name as I recall.

Guinea pigs don't house train very well, at least in my experience. We take Paddington out of his cage each night to run in the kitchen, which has a linoleum floor covering on it. We block certain places to keep him from getting away. Typically he'll try to chew on furniture and, uh, "relieve" himself wherever he wishes. He will use the tray if it is convenient, but not usually. Were he to have the run of the house, he'd likely also chew electrical cords. Once.

So Paddington lives most of his life in his cage. We take him out for breakfast and dinner, and his evening run. We take him out to sit and talk with him, and show him his face in the mirror.

No, I don't. I never trained her to be on a leash. Why do you ask?

I was just wondering. My parents have some friends that are very attached to their cats and take them for walks on leashes. They don't have any kids, so they baby their cats. It makes me laugh.
