1+ John - my 'musician' wife is currently taking ukulele lessons and usually goes to the teacher's house, but not today - instead they did their lesson over FaceTime which worked out fine. Recently, she was 'upgraded' from her 'starter instrument' to the Martin shown below - beautiful koa wood and sound - for myself, I'm often on headphones, depending on the music, with this home isolation! Very nice Dave.

It reminds of the years I spent in Hawaii working for the US Govt. A fellow employee and friend of mine was a wood worker like yourself. His specialty was making coffee tables using Koa wood and resin.

That's a lovely instrument Dave. And the 'ukulele is such a fun instrument, or can be!

I good friend of mine used to make violins and he made a couple of cellos too. He bought the back of a cello to my place one day to show me. Believe me I am a total wood butcher compared with him. He balanced the back on one hand and tapped the wood with the other and it rang like a soft bell. It had such a beautiful tone. He made all of his own tools as the bought ones just weren't quite right. A true craftsman indeed.

I have a guitar and would love to learn to play it, but time and arthritis are slowing me down, but I will get there, I hope. I love the acoustic guitar.

Thanks Charlie & John for your great responses - I love wooden instruments (actually started a post in the 'Good-Music-Guide' (GMG) website years ago about my love for these instruments made of wood etc.) - she is enjoying the new Uke and her teacher loves the sound (he is a Masters graduate from the NC School of the Arts in 'guitar/string instruments') - love the stories - if anyone wants a link to my GMG thread, then let me know - Dave :)

Bud: Gotta go home early and stock up on beer in case we have to be quarantined.

Al: You won't find any Corona. Everybody's got it.

Hey John....

Better do some wise rationing with all those "magic bottles". World War III may last longer than your supply! :goofy

Here the state of California has allowed legal marijuana shops to remain open because some people are allowed to use it for medicinal purposes. I wonder if he could convince local officials that the pub needs to remain open for "medicinal" purposes.:)
