Wow,

i never knew so many people had the same problem.
Has anybody had this problem with the G3 ibooks.
I know my friend has had a 14" ibook for a few months now and he has had no problems.
Has anybody had thiers repaired yet?

In my book (no pun intended), yes. It is a structural flaw and a MAJOR design defect!

I have not decided yet. I am quickly leaning towards the Powerbook. Even though I need the reliability and ruggedness of the iBook, the Powerbook seems less prone to problems! Too bad no one makes Powerbook body armour. :)

Phiber,

Just got my Tucano case in today. Protects the powerbook very well. Very stylish. By the way i was reading an article on Tiger. I guess tiger does not natively support the graphics card in ibooks for the Core Images. Something to think about....

Well, if youre going to use core image then its an issue. If youre not, its no issue at all and Tiger should run fine on ibooks. This came directly from the tech support guys at apple this morning.

No problems at all were the actual statements.

soo upset /=

I have had my iBoolk for about 3 weeks and I see the bend already..what would they really do about this..it would cost them too much to repair everyone's iBook. I have the Protection Plan..would this be covered? :(

No. I have even tried to see if its doing anything like that when opening. Keep in mind, its only 3 days old, but I'm not experiencing anything like that. I absolutely love my 'book.

actually the new powerbooks are nothing to look forward to, they will have lots of flaws in the beginning as well, and i am glad not to have g5. lots of problems, and overheating as well, my ibook is just fine as is. 2.5 weeks old...i dont think there is a bed, i close it with 2 hands on both sides, so it wont warp.
i dont really think the problem is as big as people make it seem.
but i could be wrong, more pics?

eh, i dont think its worth the extra. unless you plan on doing some heavy duty video editing or graphic design work, forget it.

I have just been told that i cant get the my ibook repaired under warranty. They say that this hasn't happened through general use. I have to pay for a replacement part if i want it fixed. I really cant afford it either.

Oh well
Maybe i could try some glue!!

What this isnt under warranty? What did they think you did it yourself? How much did they say it would cost to fix it?

did they think you stuck your finger in there and intentionally bent it out everyday so it would mold into a new shape????
