so it looks like everyone's ibook does this - i wonder if this is acceptable Apple quality?
sebeck said:I just looked at mine and it's very very minor to the point that I wouldnt even do anything about it unless it worsens. I think i know why it's doing that though. When you push the release button on the front to open the screen, how stiff is the lid while you are opening it? Mines pretty stiff and i can see that area flex a little as i'm opening because of the hinge design that they used. I wouldnt be suprised if every single iBook has some degree of seperation in that area eventually.
2 weeks? I think you may be too late to have it exchanged.jbsengineer said:That is exactly what is happening. When I watch the area when i lift open the lid. the plastic just bends completely away from the screen. I can see this being a serious issue down the line... This is unacceptable. (Just put a bigger hd in too)....
What is everyone's options?

Sometimes, I try and press the front silver button thing to release the screen so that I can flip it open but I have to press it a few times, sometimes harder so that it unclicks open. This really annoys me. What kind of lock thing does the iBook use anyways for this? I hope it ain't some crappy magnet or something. I wouldn't really classify it as a problem that requires Apple to look at it or something, but it does get annoying when you quickly need to press that button to open the iBook and it doesn't first time.
