I beg you to post some pictures of this!

I posted a thread with it a while ago, but couldn't find it right away, so here is Buddha in his computer.

Household has my brother's Mac Pro rig, my 15' MBP and a white Macbook. I think there's a G4 tower laying around somewhere out of commission. Definitely not in the running for the most but I do have a ton of Apple Products!

Mac Mini 2010 2.4GHz, 8GB RAM, 320GB HDD, 320M
I have...

1 iMac 2.16GHz 2006 20" (Kitchen tv)
1 iMac 2.4GHz 2008 20" (old computer used for Movies)
1 iMac 2.66GHz i5 09 27" (Used for my photography)
1 Macbook Pro Core Duo 2.16GHz 2006 15" (Hardly Works)
1 Macbook pro Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz 2006 17" (using it now ;) )
1 Macbook 13" 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo 2008 (Runs amazingly well)
1 Mac Pro 2.66GHz 2TB (raid into 1TB, For movie editing and encoding)
1 Mac Mini 2.26GHz 500gb 7200Rpm 4Gb ram (better than an apple TV and plays 1080p)

Bought the core duo when it came out for UNI then the 06 iMac for home use, then upgraded the Macbook pro for the late 06 2 months after it came out for UNI, then i got the 08 iMac to replace my old iMac and the 08 macbook is for home portability, then got the Mac Pro when it was released for movies at Home, and then got the Mac Mini and iMac at the same time when i got my home theatre and took up Photography as a hobby. Does seem like a lot of macs but they are all in good use apart from the core duo MBP which barley turns on

SE/30 (dead :( )

Too bad about the dead SE/30.:( I used to have one back in the late 1980's...but of course at the time had to sell it to finance the next "better" Macintosh computer purchase.

I wouldn't mind getting a working one again...but they still sell for a pretty good price...compared to Mac's of similar vintage. Such as an Mac Plus, SE, Classic, etc.

Maybe I'll get lucky...;)

I've thought of getting a Classic II, since they seem to be dirt cheap for the most part. I really, really wish I had a keyboard for my 512! I'd do some serious retrocomputing!

I've got a bowl full of them. Jeff hates them, he'll only eat green apples, but he's too lazy to go to the store with me, so he can stuff it :D

What I've found that's really strange...finding keyboards for the older "original" Mac's like the 128, 512, and Mac Plus isn't too hard...it's getting/finding the cord/cable that connects the keyboard to the computer.

Many folks on e-Bay sell the keyboards without the cable...strange!

You're supposed to be able to use a telephone cable...not the one that goes to the wall outlet...but the cord that goes from the phone base to the handset (it's a different cable with a more narrow connector). Then you have to snip off one end, rearrange the wires to make them "straight-thru" rather than "cross-over"...in order to reconnect the end & use the telephone cable as a keyboard cable.

I would prefer to get the original keyboard cable.

Pigoo, where did you find out about the keyboard cable being straight through on a old Mac? Interesting and an easy fix. That also explains why the phone cable never worked. Think I read that ages ago but it's been so long I forgot. You can get those ends sometimes at Wal Mart and Radio Shack. I have the crimping tool that does both sizes of the TelePhone plugs.

Here is a URL with the ends.

I don't remember the exact web page I initially discovered this "trick". But here's a fairly detailed link to a page that explains it:

Mac Plus Keyboard Cable

Awesome to see that someone found this interesting...since we're talking about such as old Mac!:)

Excellent URL.

Look at my collection at the start of this thread. I was going to repost it but last time I was jumped on for owning all the old Macs so I would rather not, but I have a few. :D

So yes, I am very interested in anything about old Macs.
