... other drivers trying to run you down,...

.

This is the big one that really bothers me. When you have a bike - you really notice all the people who are staring at their iPhones (or Droids, or whatever) and not at the road. It's epidemic where I live.

but hey, theres nothing wrong with public transport, but it can be expensive.
I lucked out here. I got an 8 month pass from the school for $290 which works out to just over $36 a month which is dirt cheap compared to the regular prices. Unfortunately, I had to pay it but it's nice having it for the odd time that I need to go somewhere where walking just isn't an option.

I'm sure it is the Droids, iPhone people would be much more considerate. ;)

A little over 4 dollars like 4.14 or something for Regular in SoCal. If I didn't have to commute I would save a lot of money.

We're surrounded by gas and oil wells here in Texas but we're still paying around $3.75 /gallon for regular. Maybe Texas should join OPEC. ;P

About $1.30 CDN/liter

I'm glad my little Toyota only has a 12 gallon tank, and $30 pretty much fills it.

I wish it were that cheap! $3.99 per gallon, right?
Welcome to the UK. £1.41 PER LITRE, so £6.41 a gallon for Diesel (petrol is only just cheaper at 1.39 a litre)
That's over $10 a gallon. My firms van costs £105 a week to fill, glad I don't pay.

Its getting ridiculous in this country for fuel.

I could believe how cheap gas was in the US. First time I went it was about $2.30 a gallon and got cheaper the further west I went ... until I hit California lol

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
My car has to use premium, which is costing me $1.60 -$1.79 litre ($6.05-$6.77 gallon) depending on the day.
Definitely walking a lot more than I used to, which is good for me and my dog :)

It's about $3.75 here still. Not looking forward to $4+, especially with my gas hog Honda Pilot that averages about 16MPG.

I wonder how many people will be able to afford gas when it gets to 20+ USD.

Fuel went up 2p a litre again today, so now £1.43.
A friend of mine works for Shell. He reckons £2.00 a litre will hit us next year.
Stop complaing America, you have it good, you don't even pay road tax either.

I realize that a significant portion gets shipped out of the country but you'd think that someone could make a sizable portion of it available here.

That's exactly why diesel is so expensive in the US. It should be a lot cheaper than regular gas, but about 5 years ago they started shipping most of the supply to Europe where they can get a lot more money for it. Hence, we have to pay more for it.

Maybe after Texas secedes from the Union, that is a good option. :)
