I found many of my college's website don't work with Safari, so a have to use Firefox. Plus I have been using it with Windows for at least 4 years. I couldn't live without Xmarks and Adblock. Plus Safari doesn't have a new tab button. I like a button more than using a the key combo.

Ever since Safari 4 came out, I stopped using FireFox on the Mac. Safari 4 is lightning quick!

Camino-- except for Facebook, which hates it. Then, mostly Safari (with a little Firefox thrown in).

I use Chrome on my vista laptop due to my safari install not working....but when I get my Macbook Pro it'll be safari and only safari with the occasional use of Chrome on windows machines.

I have never really used Safari before, but I do now since I can not believe how much faster than Firefox it is!! How can that really be?

I still do not like that you can not have the favicons in the toolbar though (if Apple think it is uncool with colours in the interface, they could show them in B/W) and that the googlebar and addressbar are fixed together.

I've never really used Safari, even now that I have a Mac, always been Firefox for me. I suppose I really should try it, but I love all the addons you can put onto Firefox.

Safari DOES have an Add Tab button. You go to Customize Toolbar and add it to the bar. Here is all the buttons available.

Keyboard shortcuts

I'm trying to use control+tab on Safari to switch between tabs, but it doesn't work. I use the same with Firefox and that works well. Any ideas why??

I like Safari more, but it's true that Firefox is a bit faster and definitely takes up a lot less memory.

I just did a test and found safari to be faster. But firefox did perform better on certain sites. and did take less memory.

My question is why?

Safari All The Way

I only use Safari.

Its quicker and I prefer the lean, clean look.

I now use it at work on the (always dreadful) Windows PC,s

Sometimes some web pages dont display perfectly (listing something on Ebay ) and then I resort to Firefox.

The new safari seems to be very good. I initially didn't like it, but soon grew into it.

Newbie Question

Working on a mac, and Internet Explorer being un-updatable, how do you check how it looks to the 40 something percent that use it?

Safari and then Firefox because the ANGEL online course software where I am attending school is quirky with Safari.
