Australia is horrible for Inet speed, we are planning to lay fibre down every street at the cost of 46b, but the other party want to completely scrap it.

My download speed: 107 kbp/s
My upload speed: 30 kbp/s

I know it fails but I pay around $35 USD a month for it. In Egypt, it's pretty expensive and slow. :(

Just got a 50MB upgrade here - the upload speed still sucks really, poor ratio to the download!

I hate when ISPs do that. I know their reasoning behind their decisions but I think they are ignoring the future of internet usage. Nowadays with the popularity of sites like YouTube and other content sharing sites the upload speeds are more important.

I personally like fast upload speeds because I can upload clients my files rather than make them wait several days through traditional mail.

I officially hate you now. ;) Enjoy it while you can because you won't be in school forever. You are going to miss it when you graduate and go back to residential speeds.

:D Well it's not that quick all over campus, usually around 40 I think. I'm actually in a lab right across the street from the main computer center with all the servers, so that's probably why the speed is so ridiculous.

I've managed to stay here for 5 Years now, but this is my last year yes :\ haha

40 is still very fast. Most residential ISPs in my area don't have anything close.

As with any cable service speed depends on time of day, day of the week etc. I ran this yesterday and got about half the speed on both wireless and wired. Upload is capped.

Wow, Australia really does have lousy speeds.

And I'm close to the exchange, most people aren't so lucky.

I'm lucky. I have a 52Mbps down / 25Mbps up. Verizon FiOS service has been really good to me. Although I will say I feel like they throttle me sometimes, but even when they do it's down to 15Mbps. I guess I can't complain.
