I'm curious, what apps do you use that makes 3gb of ram not enough for you?

iWeb, iPhoto, PS CS3, Illustrator CS3, Dreamweaver CS3, iTunes, Garageband, Safarai, and Logic...all at once.

If your running all that at once, you should have a Mac Pro anyways. :p

I do...and I still haven't upgraded from 1gb. I have a bad habit of filling up both monitors with programs.

I think it's because we already have Vista 64-bit and it's a total downer :Smirk:

But how many 64 bit apps does Vista have and how compatible is it really with 32 bit apps? I really don't know, but if it's anything how XP 64-bit was then I can see where Leopard has the advantage here. I have a suspicion that a lot more 64 bit apps will be developed for OSX.

Sure everybody thinking of buying an iMac would have loved an upgrade, but the current ones are not underpowered by any means. They are exactly as you described them, a medium-priced, Mac targeted towards the average consumer. I'm a little curious as to which non-professional programs you're trying to run where 3GB of ram on the current iMac isn't good enough for you.

My iMac G5 that I got about 2 years ago is definitely not underpowered. I am not a power user by any means but I have been running many large apps at once and have never experienced any lag whatsoever. This is the best computer I have ever owned and I have had a lot of computers in my day. It is still running the same as the day I took it out of the box.

For a member in a forum that rides on the reputation of being the friendliest, you sure stick out like a sore thumb, don't you?

I think you're the misguided one that was holding your breath for hardware announcements at a developer's conference. Can't you tell the difference between hardware and software?

And like yogi says, what is a preasent? Did you typo pheasant or pleasant? Or do you not know how to write present?

Wow, my post really was taken the wrong way. I'm sorry for being unfriendly, but I was actually disagreeing with that person who said mac users only buy their macs for the exterior look of them, rather than their software or performance, which isn't true. That person also said that people are complaining imac being replaced purely on a design basis, which also isn't true. My post made me out to look like another one of those annoying people that are itching for a new imac to come out this minute but really I was trying to tell this guy that it isn't the look of the imac that is making me and others wait to buy one but the software and performance of the computer.

Apologies for my badly written post, but really, get over spelling mistakes, everyone makes them. :Shouting:

That's ok. We all make posts that are taken the wrong way. We all tend to forget that we only have the written word to go by on what was meant, no facial expressions, no tone of voice.

Actually, about the Keynote, I found it pretty much boring as well, partly because I know about half of the things mentioned there. Through both WWDC 2006 and the Leopard site
