Well, the color can be shades of green in the winter.

That is about all we're left with in our heavily shaded garden areas but my wife keeps trying her best but unfortunately the deer and rabbits just like eating most of the flowers and we're left with a few small splashes of color and various shades of green, trees and rock!!

Anyway, I think I'm getting a bit off subject topic here.

The rabbits were ravaging our crocuses in the Spring until we heard that flaked red pepper repels them. It works for a couple of weeks, so we get the huge gallon jars of it at Costco and sprinkle it as soon as the ground starts to thaw. Seems to work pretty well if you keep up with it until the bunnies give up.
