Well here goes again. I have a new new MBP to replace the DOA MBP that lasted me 6 hours. Obviously have the internet set up again and I am downloading all those updates again...EVERYONE CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!! please.

It all went without a hitch and all I did was the same as last time. Must have been a dud MBP. At least I'm happy now.....I'm officially a proper MAC user.

Yeah, i wouldnt worry about that, same as powerbook. In fact its probably good, because on plastic laptops, the heat is kept inside rather than dissapated. Best not to have it actually on your lap though as it heats up quicker like that. Best to keep it on a flat, hard surface...

Glad it's working now.
How disappointing to have it crap out like that right after you first got it. Hopefully, this one will hold up just fine.
