Safari browser on imac says 'not available'

HELLO - HOW CAN I retrieve my SAFARI BROWSER on MY 2008 I MAC . THANKS \It says it is not available anymore but i see in in my Systems Preferences

Hello and welcome to the forum! :)

Please provide information on the OS X installed and also what you are asking about? I'm assuming that the Safari icon has disappeared from your dock at the bottom - correct?

If so, go into Finder -> Applications and see if the Safari app is shown there (see my screenshot); if so, simply drag the app's icon to your dock - let us know if this helps. Dave

Safari should be available in your Applications folder. As far as I know, you also can't delete it (someone please correct me if I'm wrong - I'm away from my Mac and working off of memories here). When did it disappear?

You're not going to see it in System Preferences anyway. Where exactly are you looking?
