pm-r I ran AdwareMedic and it found and removed Spigot and Genio. Now I'll watch and see if "You have run out of application memory" problem returns again but I am very optimistic that the demon has been found.
That's good to hear and no doubt found and destroyed all the offending gremlins.
I like to shutdown and reboot or at least restart when purging such stuff to make sure they aren't lingering somewhere or somehow. Like some of those things that can't be deleted from the Trash as "it's in use by something" and nothing is running that could be using it. Always wondered about those sort of files…
