Someone gave me rep and it is grey next to their comment while others are green. Why is that?

It means they haven't been here long enough for the Rep to count (for or against you)

Also, people with negative rep (red box instead of green under their name or avatar) give grey no-point rep.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question... Yeah, it's 100 points per dot, then after I think 5 or 6 it goes to 200 points per dot...

By the way, you should leave a comment, and for sure your name with the Positive Rep... You may or may not want to leave your name with Negative Rep.
