Seem to happen a lot with Patrick's posts, but it isn't limited to him. It may be something in the way his smileys are entered.

FWIW: I don't know if it makes any difference, especially from what Ashwin just mentioned, but quite often I will use my Mac's method for inserting smileys using the Control+Command+SpaceBar method rather than the software option the forum uses and makes available.

As Ashwin mentioned, the problem is with emojis. You may have noticed that temporarily all the extra emojis have been removed and only the main menu emojis remain.

Like member krs stated, if you get the OOPs when quoting another member's message, check to see if there is an embedded emoji, remove it, and try again.

May I just make a comment: if you post with an image, say, a screenshot of Finder or similar, then that Saves just fine. But if you Edit that post to add additional info or correct spelling etc, it will not allow you to Save that. One gets the "oops" message.

The only way out is to remove the image(s) in Edit, then add it/them again, then hit Save.

It's not a big deal, but maybe you should know about this.

Thanks Ian. That might also be related to what's occurring with the emojis.

Do you only use one certain OS, when reading these forums? Could it be an OS X Mavericks issue?

I've started to get a warning about the Sucuri firewall not connecting to the website. Here is a screenshot: Screen Shot 2021-05-12 at 9.34.26 AM.png

I did a search for Sucuri, and it seems to be a firewall that is used by websites to protect themselves. I certainly don't have Sucuri on my system in any way that I can find. I am starting to get this warning more and more often. Is it, as I think, on the site end or something else?

I find this is similar with my experiences but sometimes to get things working, I need to Copy my whole reply-post, then Delete what is written and post, then try Pasting the copied stuff into a reply window and then post that, and that process often stops the Opps dialogue from showing. But still not a hundred percent fix.

The Opps problem seems to be greatly improved lately, at least in my experience, but still annoying when it does happen.

The presence of an emoji is interesting and I shall try and take notice of that next time the problem occurs.

Thanks for the heads up.
