Your reply triggered an email, and I just tried connecting to the IRC channel. I still get the same connection message.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could this be a firewall issue?

The # sign on every Mac in this house is Shifted 3 just like on my PC.

Thats my £ sign, on my PC # is left to Enter, can't even remember the super-point-score combo on a mac (Its easy, really)

FYI, my issue was solved. The reason I wasn't able to login to the server is my name wasn't filled out correctly in my IRC client.

Side note, I just got my MBP last week. I usually use mIRC in Windows. Whats the best IRC client for Mac?

Hi! Can't join tonight. Had dinner at 7PM, and am now getting my car serviced. Emissions inspection, nothing serious. The place is open until midnight. Free wireless, but they block LOTS of stuff, including forums. So I'm connecting to their wireless, using vpn to get to work, and going out through our system. ^_^ No irc, but at least I can get to the forum.

Besides, I need to set up irc again. I tried it once or twice months ago, but was having an issue or two. I'll get things going over then next few days.
