Hello Mate, welcome from me also.

I've been using PCs since the 80's and never thought I would switch, but this Vista thing bothered me. I just bought my Macbook in March and I've had no problem switching. The biggest difference that I've seen is that the Mac OS is more key combo oriented and I've been a mouser. I still use the mouse, but many of the important moves in OS X are with key combos and will take a little getting used to, but one combo at a time

You won't have any trouble using the Mac - it's really user friendly and when you have a problem just come here for help.

Thanks for the welcome and info Noel. I'm still using Win XP and when I see my friends that are under Vista, I don't want to try it lol and somehow I feel it's time to change and discover a new environment

I didn't answer your concern about which Mac laptop to buy - I have the 13" white Macbook. It's smaller than the Pro and a little lighter in weight, also less expensive. The Pro is neat with the aluminum casing, but that can get dinged up easier than the Macbook, which has a nice plastic finish that's easy to keep clean. But the larger size, while heavier and prone to damage, has a larger screen, which would be good for watching movies.

Some like the black Macbook, but it does show finger prints and dirt more easily than the white.

In any case, either is a Mac, and you can't lose for the kind of things you want it to do...

Originally, I was interested in the MacBook as it is a small size laptop. I currently have a Dell D610 (14.1") and wanted to go for something a bit smaller for easy carrying. However after checking the MacBook Pro I found it very nice as well and liked the fact it has a dedicated video card but as I'm not doing any video/photo editing I guess the MacBook video card should do well for watching movies, etc?. Maybe later I'll be doing some photo editing but nothing professional.

Also the price difference make me think. I've got couple of friends saying that I should go for the MacBook Pro as it has more features, etc but the point here is to figure out which machine meets my needs. It would be pointless (and costly) to buy an expensive laptop (with all the latest features or technology) to finally find out that I'm not using any lol

Anyway, I'm just waiting for after the WWDC to see what's going on as I've read the rumors about the redesign of the MacBook and MacBook Pro, plus I'm not in a hurry so I think it's worth the wait

I was up like all night last night so i'm laughing at like anything.....

And my CPUs have both been running at 30-50% with all programs closed.
Now one's at 5 and one's at 6, but when everything is closed it goes back up again.
Weird.

Anyway, remembering I slept for like 1 hour last night total, and if y'all can't tell i'm in a REALLY off the walls mood today, so i'm going to bed.

The caffeinated boy has left the building!
Although, i've had no caffeine today that I know of.
