Ok, I was all set with my real job in NY to start in July. Today I went into a place near where I live in Atlanta for a final round interview for an internship until July and they offered me a full time position. Apparently they really like me. The place in atlanta offers me much more of what I wanted to do career wise, but I have already verbally accepted the other job.

I am stuck because I can't decide what to do... I want to do both because I love NY and every time I have been there I have had such a great time. But this job in atlanta is a dream job. AHHHHHH!!!

What to do? Help me out guys?

If Atlanta has your dream job stay there. NY is different if you live here. It snows 7-8 months of the year. Summers are often dismal. We have 4 seasons, but they are very similar. Cold and white, cold and wet, 4th of July, and cold.

Why do you have to get it changed today?

I have a coupon for a free oil change that expires today, but I wound up shoveling around the car enough to get a rolling start so the snow wouldn't stop me.

Made it to the oil change, and had enough time to shovel some sidewalks for an extra 20 bucks.

Well, I had a fun time today.
We almost didn't go to band festival because the weather was SO bad, and it didn't get really bad until we were on the road, so we had the choice of either turning around or getting there hours late and skipping lunch. Then this one girl, who plays the CHIMES, and somehow ended up in our band, even though she can't even read music, I don't know how that happens.....she says "WE NEED TO PLAY THIS BECAUSE WE WORKED SO HARD!" and i was like "UH THAT'S A LIE!" lol, me and my funny jokes. ;)
Anyway,
we did pretty good. Got a division II (out of 5) rating, mostly because we did kinda bad at sight-reading. We were late, but then somehow we ended up early, so we got back to school early (ugh).
Since we were told it would take all day, nobody brought their stuff for class. Then our teacher says to go to our 5th class, and he will send an email to all of our teachers saying we should be in class.
Well, we really didn't want to go, it's mostly just review for exams, and nobody had their stuff for class, so it was pretty pointless.
So most went back to class, but I just hung out with my ex/best friend.
It was a lot of fun, even though we just walked around the entire school for an hour talking and laughing.
It felt so good to catch up with her.
I was happy. She was happy. In the end, everyone was happy.
Even if we do get in trouble, for whatever reason, since we were excused for the whole day, it would have been worth it. Getting in trouble and skipping a class and getting a detention are all on my list of things to do before I graduate. ALong with getting As in more than 2 classes, and doing plays and musicals, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

That's my day, how was everyone elses?

Weekend plans anyone?

Oh and sorry about your cold Netty

where in NY? i spent the first 22 years of my life in new jersey, about 15-20 miles due west of manhattan, and my experience was very different from stretch's. four distinct seasons, without a doubt colder in the winter than Georgia, but not frigid (at least by minnesota standards ;) ). the summers were hot, some rain, the autumns lasted more than a week or so and were beautiful and often rainy, the springs were a mixed bag, but certainly not too hot or cold.

i do, however, agree that you will probably be happier following the job rather than the location. unless of course you really want to experience different places and cultures and such. either way, breaking a verbal agreement with a simple, "i'm sorry, due to unforseen circumstances, i just will not be able to accept the position" should suffice.

Okay, I just saw the movie The Vantage Point.
I hated it.
It was SO confusing, I had (and still have) no idea what was going on.

And that's not the worst part,
after watching that movie,
you
feel
PHYSICALLY
sick.

The cameras are moving and shaking and bouncing and you are like blehhhhhhhhhhh (pukes).

And people kept on living when they should have been dead, okay, you were in an EXPLOSION, your Sony handycam wouldn't STILL be working! Seriously, he gets blown up, people all around him are dead, ashes everywhere, debris everywhere, and he just hops right up like a freakin bunny, picks up his handycam and starts recording, then he immediately pulls his tiny little cell phone out of his pocket and calls his wife who is on a whole other continent and she immediately picks up even though it would be like some unreasonable hour in the morning for her......and people in that movie should have died. Okay, he was in an EXPLOSION, then he got hit by a car....2 TIMES, then he jumped out of a 2nd story building, yet he's STILL able to run from the police, which aren't the police at all, they are the people who assassinated the president.....it was SO STUPID.
What a waste of $4.
I still feel sick.
Do not see this movie.

I have an audition today, which is pretty neat. Playing bass, as usual.

Hopefully it's not one of those whiny screaming "kind-of-metal" bands.

Ugh.
