I just got word that my best friend's girlfriend had a house fire yesterday morning, and her 8 year old brother didn't make it out.

It's a real shock to the system. Puts life in perspective.

The whole community has pretty much banded around the family, and while it's touching to see an entire city come together like this, at the same time it's still horrible that something like this happened.

I'm gonna be leaving Rochester for the first time since Christmas today. I think going home makes sense.

I heard about that in the news, that's so sad. The Center Line area is a humble place.

I understand. I use MSN Messenger to talk to a variety of people, and they always complain that they can't send things like "nudges" and "winks". Apparently you have to have the PC version to get this sort of thing. Doesn't bother me, but it does seem to annoy them.

Nukem

MSN for Mac is pretty behind the times. Microsoft is allegedly working on a new version for Mac, but in the meantime, I would probably give amsn a try.

Zowie, more than one full day with no posts to the Bar and Grill. It is my "civic" duty to post something here! If no one comes to the Bar and Grill it will go out of business! :D

OK lets see, here's something. It is late February. March Break is coming up, with the March Break "season" starting in just one week. I am off for TWO glorious weeks to St. Lucia, to spend March Break with my kids and a number of close family members. It promises to be a wonderful time! Now that I have a MacBook Pro (which I am bringing with me), I may even check in from time to time to see how things are going here at MF.

So, who else is going somewhere or doing something interesting for March Break?

Hey everyone hope you all are doing well. Man I just can't seem to keep up with my life right now. I'm struggling to find an hour a day to surf the internet or stop by the B&G. Life is so stressful and hectic right now. I can't wait for spring break. It starts on the 7th for me. I will probably be away for the first weekend on a camping trip, then probably hanging out at the parent's house.

Just figured I would stop by and say hello!

I just got my computer to work after a 20 hour fight of me and time machine backups vs. me and installing xp64bit via bootcamp. A long day in my estimates...

Me and time machine backups won. Everything as back to normal. What was I thinking anyways? ;D

Is anyone else as disappointed with the updates to the MacBook line as I am?

Well, I came here to state my excuse for not being on MF in a while, then I find out everyone else has been doing the same....... ;) lol.
Anyway,
Busy times. Bad weather+dial up+Phone line that was messed up (and repaired by) my neighbor=lack of MF internet time.
I wanted to to at least a post a day this year, that's not going so well.
And exams are next week.
Normally wouldn't be a big deal, but this year is the first year of the "trimesters" at my school, where the year is in 3 parts instead of 2, which means 3 exams instead of 2......(bleh), and none of the teachers are used to it, not to mention we have had 6 snow days, so we are FAR behind in all of our classes, which tends to be bad for exam week..........it's frustrating how our class is the "guinea pigs" of the new schedule/state requirements.

Anyway, some news for michiganders: Huge explosion in GR! A copy shop which opened on January 28th of this year, gas leak problems. It's a huge mess, and so far 7 people are injured, it all started around 345-ish.
Total loss.

Hi everyone. Wanted to stop by and blow off some steam. I've ordered my first Mac (as well as my wife's) and FedEx is showing scheduled delivery for Thursday. I'm so pumped! But I just found out minutes ago I have to go out of town tomorrow for a few days and won't return until Friday! That equates to one more day of Vista! ARGH!!!

I just wanted to say my high school was on trimesters and I liked it. It helped me finish Spanish 4 by the end of my sophomore year among other benefits.

And about the exams, you probably don't really have more exams. We had 5 classes per trimester which means a total of 15 exams a year. A neighboring school district (on semesters) had 7 classes per semester equaling 14 exams a year. Thats only 1 more exam. I'm not sure how your school is doing things but I would bet that if you do the math, you probably dont have more exams, they're just more frequent.

Even though the macbook line improvement isn't amazing, I am excited. Two of my friends have been looking to get new computers for a while. I have convinced both of them to get macs. All three of us are going to get their new computers this weekend at the apple store near my house. I am so excited for them! They are both getting macbooks, so the update is a good time for me and for them. I get to see their smiling faces, and they get great new computers.
