If it's dark where you're located and you can normally see the Moon, you can enjoy a lunar eclipse now in progress. Totality begins in half an hour and lasts for nearly an hour. The eclipse ends in about two and a half hours from now.

If you've never seen one, get up from your computer, go outside, and have a look. Enjoy!!!!!!!!

Can see it by just lifting my eyes off the computer. Amazing! I just see the last sliver of the moon now.

Little question:
What kind of photopaper do you use? Is it BS when Canon (I have a PIXMA MP830) says that I should use their paper and inks? (The quality is just beautiful when I use the Canon stuff that came with the printer, but my old brother glossy stuff works good too).

During a total lunar eclipse, that's what you get. While it's in the Earth's shadow, it is never totally blocked from view.

I saw it myself this evening. Pretty neat.

I am sure such events inspired lots of craziness in the days before people understood the concept of planets, moons and the solar system in general.

I had an awesome day!!

It started good. The teacher that I work with was out today. The substitute she got is a good friend of mine. The kids were great, they didn't get all wild. They all had a good day. After work I got a little stressed because I had a paper due for my 4 o'clock class and I hadn't done it. So, I show up and guess what? The professor cancelled class. :D I now have until Monday to do my paper. So that was great.

Then I'm still a bit stressed because I have a math quiz in my 7 o'clock class. And guess what? Quiz was cancelled. :D I also got to hang out with Nick in between classes. :D

I have work in 4 hours, a test in 12, and I can't fall asleep.

Oh, I'm going to be drowning in Monster tomorrow.

I remember back in the day seeing the solar eclipse, when I was in 4th grade. Out of all the teachers in the school, she was only one of two that let us go out and see it. Was such a sight to see, I'm more fascinated with the solar eclipses than the lunar ones. :p

Part of me wants to call in sick to work, but I need that money.

Man, I hate this paper...

I have to compare/contrast power according to Marx and Weber in only 6 pages.

Heres to hoping I finish before 2 am!

Is it Friday yet? :D
Yes it is. If you are in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean or east of that, it's Friday. ^_^

I just got word that my best friend's girlfriend had a house fire yesterday morning, and her 8 year old brother didn't make it out.

It's a real shock to the system. Puts life in perspective.

The whole community has pretty much banded around the family, and while it's touching to see an entire city come together like this, at the same time it's still horrible that something like this happened.

I'm gonna be leaving Rochester for the first time since Christmas today. I think going home makes sense.

I'm home now, and the town is rocked, that's for sure.

There's a chickenwire fence all around the property with no less than a hundred stuffed animals stuck to it, and people seem to be banding together in support.

At only 1.5 square miles, it's a small town, which may be why we're all coming together.

On a lighter note, I reinstalled Tiger today (there's a thread about why in the OS X general forum), and I feel so much better about myself.
