I've been busy........and the weather has been horrible!
So i won't get to TOUCH YOUR LIFE with my presence LOL ;)

Saturday, the school "snowball" aka valentines day dance. Theme-HAWAIIAN. THEY WANTED US TO WEAR FLIP FLOPS FOR SPIRIT WEEK!
I WAS LIKE UHHH ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING, WE JUST HAD A SNOW DAY, I'M NOT WEARING FLIP FLOPS!
And my friends and I boycotted the dance because they wouldnt let these 2 guys (distant friends) go together, they said go apart or don't go, so we got everyone we could to not go. We had signs outside the school, signs up while they were selling tickets and everything. It was great to fight for something you believe in. A lot of people didn't go.

now I'm off to the school variety show! Well.....if my ride gets here! Well, she actually doesn't KNOW shes my ride yet, but in my defense, I didn't know if the school was going to have it today because of the weather, they were gonna cancel it.
My best friends and my ex are singing in the show, they're great singers.
They do youtube videos too.
www.youtube.com/SporkaProductions
i think the link is right, but their user thing is Sporka Productions if it isnt.
They're pretty funny. Completely made by them, and edited and all that.
I love them! They rock............but i will be severely disappointed if I can't get a ride :(
I love hearing them sing! For freshman....they have pretty powerful voices.
They're beautifully WEIRD people.
It's an adventure, for sure.
Enough about how cool my friends are.
I gotta go.
Excuse my possible misspellings and such, i'm in a HUGE hurry.
Bye!

and good luck with the iPhone!

Man this is stupid :(

For possibly the 3rd week in a row, I cant sleep...
No matter what I do, I find myself wide awake till around 3:00 AM. This wouldn't be such an issue if I didn't have to be out of bed by around 6:30AM.

I've limited my caffeine intake, I've stopped watching TV etc before bed so that I can "relax my mind" and tried many other techniques yet nothing has helped.
My doctor says "Wait and see" type of thing where he is hoping it will just move on. Again it wouldn't be such an issue if i wasn't at university trying to get stuff done but instead, im wide awake till stupid o'clock and then suddenly really tired during the day...

Any advice would be really appreciated. Even talking to my mac about my life problems hasn't helped... and I thought my mac could solve ANYTHING :p

If you can mamage it one day don't sleep. And you'll be super tired the next day and force yourself awake to the time you want to be tired and sleep on this next dan and then go to sleep then and you should be able to sleep then cause you'll have kicked your body into the sleeping pattern you want.

Hey the8thark :)

I tried this a while back... it just resulted in me being super tired... yet still not asleep.. instead i just stared at the ceiling wondering why im not sleeping :p

Its so annoying, which tbh i think is making it worse since i keep thinking about it.

Some cretin decided it would be a great idea to not empty the lint trap in the dryer in my dormitory.

I stood outside for an hour while the fire department put out a flaming dryer. No damage to the building other than some scorch marks on the wall behind the dryer and minor smoke damage in the laundry room.

And someone was kind enough to let us know it was an RA. Vengeance will be swift.

Hey long time no see, man! :)

Yeah, I got really busy with work for a while. Then my Grandmother found out she had lukemia and only had 2 weeks to live so I took some time off to spend with her. The Funeral was about 2 weeks ago so this is really the first time I've had a chance to get on. How has everyone been?

TS, at your age, I never went to sleep before about 2-3 am either. And don't think it changed until I was about 30.

Do have a suggestion though. Try listening to an audio book when you go to bed. Here's one you can try. A 'classic' that you probably haven't read. The movie versions are much better. A real yawner, especially the 2nd, 3rd, 4th times, when he goes into great detail of all the non-existent sea life in all the areas they visit.

I honestly can't make it through the day if I have more than 6 hours of sleep.....but I'm also worthless if I get less than 4!

Yes, I have a LOT of sleeping troubles as well.
Finally I just gave up and started taking pills for it. I was on seroquel, which is used as in anti-psychotic for some, sleeping pill for others. It worked great, got me to sleep fine, but the problems came if i ever woke up. I never knew 100% that i WAS waking up, but I would fall asleep with say, the heater on, or the lamp or tv, and when I would wake up, everything would be off and I would have little cuts and scrapes on my arms and legs mostly. At first I was thinking it was someone else turning off my stuff, but after locking the door, I realized that it was ME, and i had no recollection for it whatsoever, and I would get up in the night, hardly even awake, and go turn stuff off. In the process I would trip over the general mess in my bedroom and cut myself. It freaked me out.
So during summer break I was taking nothing. it was MISERABLE the first month, but overall i'm fine now. I just can't sleep when I have something important, or something to say to people. Usually, within the first hour of not sleeping (while really TRYING) , I knew I wasn't gonna sleep. So, I would just stay up all night. It isn't bad, it just gets bad when you stop moving (i.e. when you get home and watch tv for a little bit), but the worst part is when you crash, then getting up the day AFTER. Horrible! So, if i stay up, I make sure I go to bed REALLY early the next night, because by that time, I knew i would have no troubles. Sometimes it's the most frustrating thing in the world.

Hey thanks for your help Leukeh and bobtomay!

The problem is (and its weird i guess) is that If i do the sort of things you have suggested, I end up more awake?

For example i LOVE reading Stephen King stuff. But When i start reading I always want to finish that last little bit... I then find myself 4 hours later moaning I'm not asleep :p

Perhaps im just awkward and need to be locked away? *Grins*

And its these stories that I've heard from many people that really put me off taking medication to help... :(

thanks, she was ready to go and accepted it so that made it easier.
I too am sorry for your loss. Easier is good, but that's still never easy. May you have fond memories of her.

Greetings! I just got home from work a short while ago. That's work from TUESDAY, not Wednesday. I got stuck in an ice storm. Ugh. I stayed in a hotel, but didn't have net access. I could have connected via my iPhone, but I wanted to save battery power for phone calls.

Ah, the joys of weather. No harm, no foul, all is otherwise well.

That does not sound like fun MO. I glad that you were able to find some place other than work itself to spend the night. Welcome back!

TS, on sleep, I used to get 5.0 -5.5 hours a night in college. Now during the week I do fine on 4.0 for multiple nights. I can even get by on the occasional 3.0 hour night. Sunday mornings however I sleep to darned near noon (though I don't go to bed until around 3AM). It's my weekend. Sometimes I'd like to get more sleep, but it just doesn't happen. There are other times I wish I didn't have to sleep at all; I'm still apparently human-like. -_^

Don't worry about what other people say you should get for sleep. Get what you need and revel in being awake the other hours.
