I bought a pair of Timberland boots for $80. I've been buying this brand for a while because I like how long they last.
There was a sale going on at the store I went to, it was buy 1 get 1 50% off. So I got a pair of Vaans for like 15 bucks, originally 30 bucks.

my average sneaker cost me about $140, but I have a large collection, they all last me a long time and the only reason why I may choose one over the other is what I plan on doing.. running, walking, climbing, working, etc. I have a pair of pumas from when I was a freshmen in high school, (i'm a sophomore in college now) and I still wear them from time to time.. perfect condition.

Hey everyone!
Just checking in....

I saw my aunt today. She's on morphine drip so she's much more calm and peaceful. Its hard seeing her there on the bed, and my mom and I cry, but at the same time I don't want her to suffer. It's been a long battle for her...

On a happier note, :) Thanks to everyone for the MOTM nomination. I feel kind of bad cause I haven't been very active because of my situation but I will most likely come online at night. Also, I have a new fish tank! :D 10 U.S gallons, I'm so excited! But this time I'm trying to do everything right...got it cycling, got a heater for it. I can't wait for it to be ready to get some cool fish.

Goodnight everyone! :)

I'm in the market for some SHOX (or an alternative), but they're all over $100 bucks! Shoot I'm used to paying $40-$60 for shoes. Does anybody know for some good nike cross-training/running shoes in between $60 and $100 bucks?

New Balance. Zips. Best shoes around

Netty, it's nice to hear that your aunt is being kept at peace - i'm guessing they're not hopeful for a recovery? i hope you guys have the time you need to make your own peace with the situation.

i'm also considering getting a tank. i think in the summer when our son turns four, it will be our father/son project. he really like watching the fish a petsmart. :)

Yes, tanks are fun! I went from a 1 gallon for my betta, then to a 3 gallon, and now I'm at a 10 gallon. This time I plan to put in some freshwater fish, like Neon Tetras, or maybe some Gouramis.

My aunt passed away a few hours ago. It's so hard seeing my mom and her family go through this.

Thanks MO :)

So, now I'm kind of regretting having bought an iPod Touch. I really would like to have an iPhone, my cell phone is so boring.

Anyone want to buy an ipod touch??????? ;)

I'm sorry for your loss. At least now all of her pain is gone.
My grandmother passed away a year and a half ago, losing a loved one can be hard.
I went through the typical things, it never really hit me until I saw her at the funeral that she was actually gone. Once it hit me, i got really depressed, I was upset that she had to go so soon, i felt like there was so much wisdom she had never shared with me, so many of her stories go untold, so much that I could have learned from her that I never got the chance to. I tried to fill that space by finding out every last bit of information I could about her.

For me, it seems like i will never ultimately get over it, but i've learned to live again, it's really changed my life in a good way, I think she would have been upset at me if I would have stayed depressed all of this time, she would have told me that I wasn't living my life to the fullest.
I had a dream about her the other night,
(In my dream) I was looking through all the countless documents about her, googling her over and over again, all of which i have done in real life.
Then she came in and lightly smacked me and said, with the biggest smile:

"Tanner, in this day and age, it makes you look like a creep obsessing over a dead old lady, even though I was quite a dish in my day.
But it's time to stop grieving and start living. I love you, always have. I'm not upset you stopped staying with me during the summers, I knew it was going to happen, for crying out loud no teenager wants to spend all of their summers with their granny! I exist now in your heart and in your memories, we were close, so you should have enough of them to last a lifetime. Stop with this, you need to go out and have fun, be young and stupid, because in the end that's all life is about. Heck, I was young and stupid for 69 YEARS! I'll always be with you, I know you loved me and I know i love you, so go be a teenager. I'll always be with you where ever you go, sometimes I may have my back turned when you are doing some things you wouldn't want family to see (as she laughs), yes, i was talking about sex. But i'll always be with you, i'll always be a part of you."

It was strange, but it helped me.

I'm sorry about your aunt, I hope it doesn't stop you from living and loving your life.

Thank you Tanner. :)
I'm lucky because I was able to spend a lot of time with her this past year. My mom and went to her house every sunday.

She cared so much about everyone. She was so loving. When I first saw her at the hospital on Sunday, I started feeling like I was going to faint from seeing the nurse draw her blood. I remember sitting on the floor trying to control myself and I can hear her in the background asking if I was okay. She was laying there barely able to talk or take a breath and she was more worried about me than herself.

I'll never forget that moment.:'(

Hey Netty :)

Sorry to hear about whats happened, and I know your no doubt going to hear this a lot but I genuinely believe its the best advice.
Don't let it get you down, your aunt would of wanted you to be happy, and remembering all the good times you had together is going to be the best way to do this.
All the times you smiled laughed whatever, thats what your aunt would of wanted :)
That all said, you and your family are with my prayers tonight Netty :)
