Well I have started many new things lately, Golf, cooking and about to start going to the gym with a couple of my friends (on a Friday and Saturday because thats when the teen session is on :D) just wondering what other people have started?
I've begun watching movies with the language option set to "french" (when available). Not that I'll necessarily get better speaking it!? :D

Hope everyone is having a good day, mine has been kind of hectic so far. I woke up to go to class, came home and ate then had to finish up some homework and head back to class. Now I'm waiting around for about a half an hour only to head back to campus to do some work. Man I can't wait for the week to be over with!

That does sound quite interesting!
I've always wanted to buy an old school bus and make it into an RV type thing, just one of my irrational ideas ;D

Well my brothers MacBook came in yesterday, and he was happy...

His friend told him that he had some test today, and not tomorrow, about 4 hours after I installed leopard, and got everything setup again for him.

He was angry, and shut it aggressively. I heard it in my room at the top floor. He was in the basement. He needs one of those SSDs because his new drive is broken. Worse than last time! Took out the drive, dent in it :going insane: Needless to say it won't boot. So, we're getting him a stronger drive this time.

UGH!

UGH!

Two words for you: Smith Corona.

Let that ingrate try and break one of those....

P.S. How the heck does one *dent* a hard drive without a focused strike with a blunt instrument? Sheesh...

Ahh yes. The humble typewriter. I was watching a movie with my 15 year old daughter recently and the guy, a detective, was typing. Daughters ays, "Dad what is that guy doing?" I felt old instantly.

Well, I'm not all that old, but I do remember a time that I was typing school papers on one of those. I remember being really bummed when the auto-correct tape would run out and I'd have to resort to "white-out"!

Of course, we had the Commodore 64, but I don't believe we actually had a printer for it until the very late 80s (remember, they were easily as expensive as a computer at one time).

I am not old enough to ever use a typewriter (i'm 4 years older then your daughter) but i've always known what a typewriter was. I think its one of those things that people will not forget.

many years from now, it will be like the abacus, people will buy models.

When I started work computers were in sci fi films and when we did get them they were huge, taking a whole desk with lovely green text. I was a typwriters worst nightmare until the IBM golfball typewriter came along. Lets see 5 pieces of paper and 4 pieces of carbon paper and two bottles of correction fluid. Before that it was the eraser pencil with a brush on one end and eraser on the other.

OK, I'm going to guess you've got at least 10 years on me. But I was surprised to see that PBG4 was 10 years younger than me!

The first computer I ever used was an Apple II. I remember being in First grade and being intensely curious about it. They used to keep it on a huge metal cart and roll it into the classroom on occasion. In later years, we learned rudimentary programing with LOGO (a computer language aimed at kids, where you basically wrote instructions to move a "turtle" around the screen) and I do remember playing "Oregon Trail". Even still, I'll bet this makes me seem like a relic to many of you!
