My car was broken into early this morning. Well, I left my doors unlocked. Whoever it was, he/she took a couple dollars in change, my iPod shuffle, and my bible. Funny cause I had the bible and Koran next to each other in the car, but the thief only took the bible.
I'd rather have them take my iPod than having them break my window(s).

And my camcorder needs to be sent in for repair. It clunked out on me.
What a day.

That really stinks,
As an iPod shuffle owner, i feel your pain. ALthough its better than broken windows.

I finally got an update on my truck. I walked into the dealer's today and demanded to know what was going on with my truck. They brought the mechanic out and he said he was waiting to hear from the parts guy on prices for gas lines, wire harneses, and a tank. I said that shouldn't matter, and that the tank shouldn't have fallen off in the first place.

They brought the owner out, and we sat down in his office. Asked what I was doing with the truck at the time. Said I was driving down a seasonal road and the tank fell off. Wasn't fooling around, wasn't "off-roading". I was going ~15mph at the time the tank fell off. He asked me a few more questions, then looked up the price of the tank and lines, etc and made a phone call, told me I'd have my truck back in 48 hours, and it would all be taken care of.

I went in very ticked off, and ready to rip some CHEESE CURLS apart and came out in a much better mood. Maybe these guys aren't as bad as I thought.

That's cool. Glad to see that they're taking responsibility. People buy pickup trucks to drive on roads like this, constructions sites, and yes - even off-road. There's a reason the ads for all pickups are all about "toughness", that's a primary selling point. Clearly something wasn't right with the tank to begin with. If this was normal wear for an F-150, they wouldn't have sold the gazillion or so that they have for the last 20 years.

Well I am glad to hear that your truck will be repaired free of charge. Good luck with those CHEESE CURLS too.

Glad to hear about the good news on the truck!

I worked ALL day today. When in the computer lab I checked out the new MB Air. I don't know, at times I think I would almost want a regular Macbook, I mean it's pretty thin the way it is. Oh well, I have my MBP anyways.

I have to say, I am not impressed with the Macbook Air. I mean the design, and the touch pad looks nice, but is it really worth the $1800 price tag, or $3000 for that matter?
You can get yourself a beefy MBP for that price.

Yeah....I can't believe they left out the NIC! I don't think it would have added much to the size or weight. I also don't too much for the flip down door for the (3) ports. I hate moving parts on notebooks, just something else to break.Would have looked even better to include them in the contour of the side. Oh well........maybe Apple will see the ere in their ways, and fix this in MBA 2.0!!!!

On another note....I still want one, just for the sheer novelty of the item, but it does seem like Apple is niching this item just like the Newton. No user changeable battery limits the life of the product greatly.....once someone puts $1800 into a notebook.......they don't want to put in another $300+ to ship their laptop off and have the battery replaced. Ludicrous I say!

I think you're right. It's not for everyone, but I think it's a cool device.

Look at it this way. It's a real computer for a digital road warrior, but it's a supplemental machine. Pop it in your brief case and go. No extra bag, no need to lug something around on wheels. Sync everything when you get home. Yeah, it's a little delicate, but if your environment is offices, conference rooms, and airports, this could make sense for you.

If you lug your laptop once or twice a year, you're probably not the customer for this. If you're schlepping it every day, with case et al, this may be an attractive little machine for you.

While I agree with you for the most part, I think Apple could have done a lot to broaden the audience, without changing the dimensions of the machine very much (if at all).

I am one of the people that this machine was meant to appeal to. I travel with my notebook constantly. It goes to work with me every day and sometimes out on my own personal time. I like ultraportables and have owned a number of them (Dell Latitude L400, C400, X300, D420 and Inspiron 700m).

One of the things that the very thin ones have is a clip on "base" (I like to refer to it as a "dock") that increases the width, but is still manageable for travel and adds many of the ports and an interchangeable optical/floppy/extra hard drive bay. This does increase the price, but then people that buy these machines are used to paying upwards of $1500.

What ticks me off about the Air, more than anything else, is how cheap Apple went with the accessories. For that kind of money, they could have at least included a USB Ethernet adapter, the optical drive, or even just an Apple remote (yes, that is an extra cost item!).

I could live without the extra ports, I think - but I'm going to hold off on this one.

I don't think Apple hit the ball out of the park with this design and I have a feeling that the price will be going down - or that we'll see an early redesign if they intend to keep the price point where it is.

Hey :)

Decided to post a quick version of one of my projects. Its a strange cover of Vangelis - Conquest of paradise.

All parts recorded by me, guitars and bass etc are live recordings where as the choir and string sections etc are all software instrument based played in using a midi keyboard.

Levels etc are still slightly out, this is a WORK IN PROGRESS :p Also please note the actual quality is much higher in the original, ive had to make the MP3 quality lower to allow me to fit it within the 1mb limit on the boards :)
