I've been done Christmas shopping for awhile now. I always start right after Thanksgiving. My mom waits to the last minute. :) She drags me to the crazy malls with her. That's what we'll be doing this coming weekend.

I thought I was done Christmas shopping, out of all the people I have forgotten to get a gift certificate to Best Buy for my brother. Leave it to this town to have the nearest Best Buy over an hour away. I don't know when I will be able to get him one now.

Half of the room is painted. The other half I will paint tomorrow. It took me about 2 hours to do 2 walls. Of course I had to spend time moving things out of my way, taping off corners and the trim. In case you are all wondering, 2 walls are a really dark red, the other two are an off-white.

WooHoo! My grades came in for this semester and I really did get straight A's. I worked harder and studied more this semester than any time in my life, so seeing the results of my work makes me more optimistic about all of the much harder classes I'm going to have to take over the next two years.

Congrats:) I didn't get straight A's but my GPA is finally back over 3.0
Just in time, too. This next semester is my last and the potential employers I'm interested in don't tend to look at anything below 3.0

Yeah, my cumulative is about 3.1 after this semester. But for some reason my new college doesn't calculate my community college grades into it, so I have a 4.0 cumulative right now.

Congratulations on the good grades! I myself got the grades I wanted, 3 A's and 2 B's. My overall GPA for the semester was a 3.69. It helped raise my overall GPA above a 3.2 which is good because I plan on graduating with at least a 3.3. :)

Congrats on the grades.

I'm done w/ xmas shopping too. I spent like 4x the amount I normally do haha. It's ok though. I like seeing the happy faces of the people who I bought gifts for. Makes it worth every penny. :D

Thanks mathogre and jotdess.

Well, the good news had to be accompanied by some somewhat bad news. The store that I've worked at for over 2 years wants me to transfer to a store closer to my college because they need me to work more hours. This is good for me because I'll make more money, but bad because 1.) I'll have to work during the week while in college, which may affect my grades 2.) I get along great with the people I work with and I know they're gonna hate to see me go and 3.) I'll be working for my school newspaper as well, so I'll have even less free time than I thought I would have.

I'm not sure what to do. RadioShack pays well and I feel like they pay me MORE than what I think my work is worth to them, and I need a steady paycheck when I move into my apartment next year. On the other hand, there's the new job I got as a school newspaper opinion columnist. I don't think I'll make a lot of money with them, but I would work for them for free. I love writing and voicing my opinion, so I don't want to give up that job either. I still need time to study so, for obvious reasons, I can't give that up. So, it looks like my only option is to have nearly zero free time for the next few semesters.

TC, I've been going through the same kind of thing. Don't worry though, you'll get used to. Everything usually has a way of working out even if you start to feel overburdened. This past semester seemed like the busiest semester I had ever had. I was trying to hold down 2 jobs and making it as a full-time student just doesn't help. Somehow I was able to keep my grades up. To tell you the truth I think it was the lack of free time that actually convinced me to study harder. I'll be going through the same thing next semester, so if it helps, just try to think that your not the only one trying to deal with it. I'm BARELY making rent, haha I don't know how I'm doing it.

Well, today was an interesting day. I slept on the couch in my parent's basement since my room is a mess in the middle of re-painting it. Since we have no windows down there no light gets through, my mother work me up when she was home for lunch, I crawled out of the basement at 1 o'clock. When I opened the door the light hit me like a freight train. I skipped the shower (nasty I know) and went straight into the painting clothes. I was able to finish the other 2 walls today and get the second coats on them after the first one dried. I then came back after dinner and did all the touch-ups. It's finally done, now I just have to figure out where I want to put things in my room, get a few new posters ordered and finish situation the stuff I decided to keep. I have to box up some old high-school stuff such as photos and things I know my mom wants me to keep. Thankfully, I'm relieved to know I will have it all done before my parents and I head on our Christmas vacation.

Good evening! I hope everyone is well.

I won't be around alot over the next few days. I'll be out of town and probably offline, though I'll have email. I'll be back regularly probably after Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone! ** ** **!!!!!!!

Well the room is finished and I must say, it looks fantastic. My mom has to get new curtains to go with the new colored walls. I must go though, I have to get up early for Christmas vacation!
