On the Forums page, this one is called Off-Topic, but in the heading on this page, it's called Schweb's Lounge and The Lounge. is it undergoing an identity crisis? ;)

Not retired. The name was changed to more closely align with what the forum is for - "off topic items".

Where do you see the heading "Schweb's Lounge" or "The Lounge"? The name for this forum is now "Off Topic". And that's what this forum has been for regardless of what name it was in the past.

That's not the Forum heading, it's the description of the forum. We have not gotten around to changing it but we will.

@bob:

I should have asked.... where are you finding that description? It doesn't show up under the Forums headings and should actually be what Rod showed in his last post.

The message that Bob posted above is a one time dismissible message that a brand new member would see the very first time they enter that forum area. After the message is dismissed the very first time...it shouldn't pop up again. With the migration of the site...some of these 1-time message types are being shown again (the B/S/T area has one too). After it's dismissed the first time...it shouldn't pop up again.

Thanks Nick. I was wondering why it didn't show up for me.

Still a bit of a mystery why it showed up for Bob and toMACsh since both of them have been members for a long time and likely have been to that forum many times.

If you click on the X, it should disappear.

Edit: I just got this error when I tried to post my reply (this one). Screen Shot 2020-07-26 at 5.31.06 PM.png

Edit: I just got this error when I tried to post my reply (this one).

I got one of those yesterday, in a different forum, and I finally just gave up trying to get it to send.

I wasn't going to spend a bunch of time to try and figure out what might be wrong and it wasn't that important or critical anyway.
At least I'm not alone. :D

Nope, not alone. Did you see my post in the Bugs thread? The notification was different and suggested tapping "back" and reload, this also resulted in losing my post.

I got one of these yesterday. On this one occasion, I found a solution.

I highlighted the text (there were no images); copied it, erased the text and then copied it back again. Sent immediately.

I removed the image Ian inserted from my reply. And I also reloaded the webpage.

That method also worked for me for a post that would not send.

Don't forget that the forum software is saving your reply as a draft. (The small floppy disk in the menu.) In theory, there should be no lost replies even if you receive an error.
