Wow; you like pets then :p

Taz is a stunning looking cat, very pretty colours.

About Guinness; how do you get a cat to settle in a new house with existing pets?

My friend just took in another cat; he already had 2 Dobermans (pups) and a reasonably young cat.

The new cat ran straight up stairs and sat in same spot for almost 2 days. it then ventured further in the house and has made itself comfortable on one of his sons beds.

At first it wouldn't let anyone stroke it, then it lets 1 person at a time stroke it and hisses if another person comes in the room. I think it's calmed down a bit with people but it still hisses at other animals in that house.

So; how do you get the new cat to settle down? (I don't think it had a rough life in its previous home so not a rescue cat or anything).

Cheers,

Dave.

Here are my two, first my 3 year old English Springer Spaniel (Where I get my Forum username from) named Lady. Then there is Billy, a slightly older American Foxhound. Both are great working animals.

I got a new kitty! This makes 3

So as you may or may not know, my fiancee is a vet student. As such, she gets to start spaying cats and stuff now, so she is in a group of 3 students who get to do a total of 3 spays, with each person switching jobs through each procedure. Anyway, her group's first kitty, she monitored vitals for, and her friend Sean did the spay... She fell in love, and brought me to see the kitty too... and I fell in love.

Everybody, meet Freyja, the newest addition to my family of kitties. :)

Poor kitty with the e-collar still on :( I took it off because I <3 her. I put it back on after though to make sure she doesn't rip out her stitches.

Very nice! I have three cats back home and I plan on getting some of my own once I can properly care for them. My girlfriend already has three types picked out that we'll get someday :p

This last photo would make a good LOL Cats photo.

"My hand! Mine!" Munch munch.. :D

I've got two cats myself..both are about 12 and 14 years of age. My aunt sometimes brings her dog and/or her cat around Christmas. I know I'll cry like a baby when both of my cats pass away. They're really sweet. Though one of them doesn't *cough* use the bathroom box *cough* like she should be doing. :D

Ah yes, the wife. The most important pet of all. :)

No kitties deserve to die. I don't think they do. I think they just move on to the next existence having achieved nirvana in this one.

My point wasn't that they deserve to die. My point was is that I'd miss them when their time eventually comes. I think she stopped properly using the cat box when we got another cat (the younger of the two) who turned out to be a bit of brat every once in a while when he was a kitten. He's better behaved now these days. I don't blame her for not using the cat box, most females who have a male introduced into their territory will stop using the box unless provided another one, in a separate room. I've been down that road. She seems to think he'll use both (and eventually he did). So I gave up on having two cat boxes. Besides, I find acid-treated concrete easier to clean up than carpet or grooved tile. So I'm not taking the time to re-teach her to use the box.
