It's always difficult to tell which OS is better...
At least here's a little something I wanted to add:
Windows XP Home Edition 229,- Euro
Windows XP Professionnal 325,- Euro
Mac OS X.3 129,- Euro
(prices at Amazon Germany)
WinXP Home lacks some networking features of WinXP Pro.
Mac OS X has even more networking features than XP Pro (integrated Apache, FTP etc.)
Mac OS X includes DVD player, which actually DOES play a DVD movie without additional codecs (unlike Win Media Player).
It also includes iMovie (WAY better and easier than Movie Maker on Win)
iPhoto (no similar soft in Win)
iTunes (I'd say it's better than Media Player, but that's a personal opinion)
Developer tools (no such thing in Windows)
I surely forgot some others, but what I wanted to show is that, out of the box, Mac OS X is better equipped, and it's way cheaper than Windows (for the price of XP home, you get the Mac OS X family pack, means 5 licenses!).
This is a pure OS comparison, no hardware or extra software bundle involved.
Allthough this still doesn't tell that OS X is better, but one thing's for sure:
with Mac OS X, you'll get more for the money (and even have some left ;-) )
For Apple hardware, it's a completely different story, though...
