I especially like this one now that our political season is in full swing! :)
As much as I like a lively political debate (as long as it is intelligent), I absolutely agree that political discourse is off-topic on a Macintosh discussion list.

I have noticed something fascinating in my Mac User Group though. It seems that the type of person who decides to use a Macintosh is also the type of person who often has certain political beliefs, drives a certain type of car, etc.

For instance, I brought up once on our discussion list that I drive an Acura (a high-end Honda for those of you not in the U.S.). I thought that I'd be an outlier on this, as you don't see a ton of Acuras on the roads here, but it turned out that lots of folks in my User Group drive Acuras!

I think you may be on to something Randy. I happen to own three Honda autos although none are an Acura. CRV and 2 Civics. :)

Isn't that somewhat of an oxymoron???

Well, paradoxically, the unintelligent person in any political debate always seems to be the person who disagrees with whatever side one person come down on on any issue.

Oh yes, prior to my Acura I've owned three Honda Accords. Honda is sort of the Apple of car manufacturers.

And it makes sense that Mac users would tend to be different than the majority of people, and to do similar things as each other. Someone who purchases a Macintosh is often someone who went out of their way to make an unconventional choice (or at least not the most common one) because they appreciate what a Macintosh offers.

I purchase Honda-made cars because the company is engineer-centric, yet also has a flair for aesthetics. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

I also have two motorcycles in my garage that are unusual choices, but they are much appreciated by some knowledgeable gear-heads. I have a 1975 Honda CB400F and a Suzuki SV1000N.

A businessman was flying from London to New York. He was seated next to a very glamorous blonde and, in time, they got talking. He told her he was on his way to a big business convention. The lady replied that she too was off to a convention, but seemed shy about mentioning the nature of this meeting. Eventually, the man persuaded her to tell him more. Well, she said, it’s a convention of nymphomaniacs.

May I ask, said the man, what men make the best lovers? Well, she replied, you’d be very surprised, but it’s the Native Americans; and second to them are the Jews.
At the end of the flight, he suggested that they might meet up in New York and she agreed. What’s your name, she asked.

He replied, Tonto Goldberg.

No Patrick ... it was completely stock. You got me thinking now. Maybe a 600hp mower would be fun if I could run fast enough to keep up. Imagine how far that machine could hurl doggy-do-do.

That is one of those slow burn jokes that although having read it before never fails to have me laughing by the end, I suppose it just fits my sense of humour but the imagery just builds and i do love a bit of slapstick humour. Thanks :ROFLMAO: (y)

**** EXPLAINED BY A CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of Arizona chemistry mid term, and an actual answer turned in by a student.

The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Bonus Question: Is **** exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of **** is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into **** and the rate at which they are leaving, which is unlikely. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to ****, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering ****, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to ****. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to ****. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in **** to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in **** because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in **** to stay the same, the volume of **** has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If **** is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter ****, then the temperature and pressure in **** will increase until all **** breaks loose.
2. If **** is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in ****, then the temperature and pressure will drop until **** freezes over.
So, which is it?
If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in **** before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that **** is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since **** has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct....leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting...'Oh my God.'
