As a side note, Xbench hasn't been updated since 2006. With the improved engine in Snow Leopard and how it handles multi-core processors, I'm wondering how accurate it is now.
I didn't realize this...but it would make a lot of sense (why Xbench is limited to 4-cores/4 threads).
Back in 2006, the "fastest Mac" (and the Mac with the most cores) was the "quad-core" Mac Pro model (1,1). The 8-core Mac Pro (2,1) wasn't introduced until April, 2007. So maybe the folks that wrote the latest version of Xbench (2006) only wrote it to test 4-cores max.
