Thread test doesn't seem to work on lion?

If you untick thread test it will finish the rest off though...

I had a play with a few options and got this score out!!!

We need to revive the Geekbench thread. I don't trust Xbench since it hasn't been updated in so long.

Geek bench yeilds around 3500..

I like xbench because it's more of a complete system test vs geekbench which is really just processor and RAM.

Still not too bad for an August 05 computer.

Yes, I had an identical PMG5 (except I had 8GB of ram) they're still far more capable that people tend to give them credit for, it got a higher benchmark score than my current Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook gets.

It will not affect some of the "scores" in an amount that would make it worth the upgrade.

However, the more RAM you have on board, the more of your open applications data can be stored in memory rather than having to be written to virtual memory (your hard drive) thereby making your system faster when you have multiple applications open that can use the additional memory. Look at the tests that report the results in "time" it takes to complete a task - you'll see a pretty big difference in those.

Your scores will not match theirs unless you are running the same version of the testing software using the same scripts they used for their testing and still there will be some variance from one computer to the next.
