Every time I try it, I get "connecting to the App Store" then when the App Store opens, I get the "Cannot connect to the App Store" error box.

Must be something wrong on your end because the URL works for me each time. It connects me directly to the Mac App Store and offers High Sierra to download.

Are you both using admin accounts? I haven't tried that yet?

Edit: Didn't work.

Something's a bit odd, I get this but eventually get connected to the App Store page.
This is using Firefox that I just recently started using as my default browser:

Works for me in an admin account. The only difference is that under Mojave at the end of the donload it tells you that it cannot be opened on this version of the OS. This is on an admin account running Safari as the browser.

BTW I made sure that automatic updating was turned off so that it didn't try to do something to my current install.

That's understandable. The idea is to copy the downloaded High Sierra installer to a flash drive or external hard drive and save it for future use. Also it can come in handy for those folks who want to go back to High Sierra after installing Mojave.

Note... that even though Mojave will not allow you to open the High Sierra download, you can still make a USB installer with it.

I was finally able to get the link to work. I had to create a new Apple ID password.

The following URL is for downloading High Sierra. Once you download it, be sure to make a USB flash drive installer.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/maco...741?ls=1&mt=12

Just curious, but why on Earth is the download for High Sierra at the itunes.apple.com site??? I thought it was for iOS stuff not macOS stuff!!!:Confused::Confused:

Oh that would be a frosty day in **** if and when that happened!!! Sorry, I guess I had a bit of a momentary lapse and a bit of a brain fart back there.

But I'll have to be careful as to what I say here, otherwise I'll be labeled as a Apple basher again!!! :Smirk:

PS: the the old brain has been busy investigating new replacement stainless kitchen cookware and the brain's almost boiling over with confusing and sometimes misleading information.

Don't worry about being an Apple Basher Patrick. They do that all the time in upstate New York and then sell it along the farm roads to travelers. Best tasting Apple Jack in the US! LOL.

No, no, no, Patrick. Leave that to SWMBO. Cool the brain with some cider - that comes from Apple too.:)

Thanks for the advice and I tend to forget that there are other places in this world that probably have apples and cider as good as we get in BC, Canada.

Apparently the Merrydale cider that is grown and made not that far from us is some of the best in the world. And even some warm mulled cider does sound good for some of the cold evenings we will be getting soon.

Sorry no, and that was the problem in the beginning when SWMBO purchased a full set of low quality cookware 'cause they were shiny stainless and on sale and let's just say her understanding of physics isn't anywhere near outstanding — unless of course one means out standing in a field all by itself!!!

Then there's the problem of trying to get the correct proper information of the actual specs of the cookware which is akin to pulling teeth. What a PITA!!! And no, the "A" doesn't stand for Apple!!! :Smirk:

Anyway, that's a whole different topic and I'll leave it for another time.

Yes, yes, you do. If you are building/upgrading a Hackintosh, that subject is forbidden here.
