Well, now we are a little more settled I have been able to get back to my lathe again. Not too cold after a few minutes of the fan heater doing its knut!
We are selling (I hope) at a craft fair at the end of Jan and I wanted be make something with Valentines in mind, for the lady who thinks she has everything. Well, she ain't got one of these, know what I mean?
It called inside out turning ( look it up for a better description than I could give ). A single stem flower vase done in oak and black walnut with a 1" glass vile in it.
It's a fascinating way of turning and although I haven't done very much I love doing it. Like everything else in turning you never really know what you have got untill you stop the lathe.
You do have to a bit careful with wood though because unlike money it doesn't grow on trees you know : :
