Thank you Lord, the MPB hasn't changed - still waiting on mine being built...

I notice Aperture 3 is available for sale, although I'm not sure if this is the update or not???

The thing is there will ALWAYS be a new computer. Even if you get a new Mac, they USUALLY refresh them every 7-8 months.

Maybe there's some kind of vBulletin hack that will change the skin here depending on whether the Apple Store is down, or not. Maybe Apple can develop a widget. It wouldn't even have to be freeware. It could come with 10 valium, gratis.

So, you're surprised to see enthusiasm for new Apple products on an Apple fan site?

yeah but what i meant was 1-2 months after i get mine

Chances are it will. Like stated they usually release a new MBP on avg every 8 months. It has already been 8 or 9 months so technically I wouldn't be surprised if one was out in the next 2 months. Is it a for sure thing? Nah. Either way your Macbook will be more than amazing. Just look at it this way. The new i5 and i7s won't have all the bugs worked out and yours already does.

No, I'm not surprised. I was making a joke. Surely you don't begrudge a little humour?

You're cool in my book and thats all that matters. People work really hard to even get into my book and you have simply done it with your humor ;-).

Very well said!
It's quite normal to see bugs in the first release, as it's nearly impossible for any manufacturer to get them perfect. There are too many variables. Thus until they are in the hands of the customers, functionality is unknown. That's why its good to buy near the middle or later during the product cycle. By that time they've done the rolling changes and the machines are well sorted.
.
Cheers...

I have been looking at all the reviews from competitors with i5 and i7 core and noted that while they have been pleased with performance battery life has taken a hit none
that have been reviewed so far have not made it to 5 hours that might not be important
to some but Apple has pride itself in obtaining 7 hr batt life with the current crop. With
that said Intel is supposed to introduce or have available a newer chip that is more power conservative and can't help but think Apple is waiting on this for their laptop line.

I'm in the market for a new laptop. I will be doing a lot of video editing with it. Should I wait for the new i5/i7 MBP or go ahead with a MB or MBP? Advice please

Do you need it today? If the answer is yes then you don't need to wait. I already have a MBP so I am just fine at waiting lol. It would not hurt if you did get it now though. For what you are doing the Intel Core 2 Duo has been performing amazing at for the past several years.
