I would say sometime around mid july to early august. Because intel just delayed the new montevina chipset until July 14th and i doubt that apple will release new MB/MBP's before montevina comes out, that would just be silly.

Yes, I have just seen the rumor saying

Intel will be delaying their Montevina notebook platform until July 14th, with a full line of chipsets not shipping for "a couple of weeks later".

So not before August :(

I will just wait till the new MBP will be released. I'm now on PC and I'ù looking forward to switch but I will wait for the update. I hope the the MBP desing will be similar to the MacAir i.e. black keyboard.

I got my macbook a little over a year ago and its great, but i also like to have the upgrades when the timing is right(and i have the money). What im curious about is will apple evr go into tablet technology, and if so, when? I really like he idea and my friends tablet computers.

well i'm not sure if you're looking for a tablet that has a keyboard and swivel screen or just the touch sensative screen, but if you just want a mac/apple based tablet there is the modbook which i think is considered a tablet computer.

I like that look, black keys won't get dirty. One problem is that it is still aluminum, and so is the macbook. So that picture isn't 100% accurate. Apparently aluminum is a "cleaner" product environmentally because plastics are petroleum based. Hopefully they keep the same basic design, make small changes such as keyboard, screen latch, bigger trackpad?, maybe better heat displacement/cooling. I would rather have them keep a similar design and not have to work out the bugs later.

So the plan is a WWDC release? I'm getting a macbook pro next month and it would be nice if it was out by then and shipping to the public. Same with the 3g GPS iPhone haha.

Well all of those who say they have to buy next month, or before school starts in August, it looks like you are out of luck.

http://www.macrumors.com/2008/05/27/intel-delays-montevina-platform-to-july-14th/

They are saying shipments on the MB and MBP might be delayed until late August or even even early September.

If they introduce a new one at WWDC I will wait for it to ship, if they dont, I am just going to break down and buy a current MBP!

Even if they release a new one at WWDC, if its not shipping within a week after WWDC then im not waiting. I have been waiting way to long, and i quite like the current design of the macbooks. Not a fan of the aluminum

Am i the only person who thinks there is absolutely no way that apple doesn't have new macbooks ready before August? If they didn't they would miss a lot of the school computer shoppers.

I agree, I'll wait until the end of june, but July, no. I'll go buy the current one its sturdy, proven to work, and I like it. (Unless the new one is like 10x better which it probably will be)

The modbook is awesome, why dont they have it on the Official Mac site?

Because it's not an Apple product. It is actually a third-party modified MacBook - I don't even think that Apple warranties it.
