Well no one knows for sure if it will be this summer or at wwdc for sure, its all rumors, only that. So if you NEED the computer now then buy it, if you dont then wait for WWDC to roll around and see what happens. Thats what im doing, and if they dont update them at wwdc, then im just going to buy it

that is what i will do too then, since that is what i originally planned on doing anyways.

Why be heartbroken?? Even if they update them your MBP is still going to run fast, and do everything you want it to do..... Just be happy with the one you've got!

Apply logic instead of emotion, it's just a tool regardless of what color they paint it.

Eh, I can kinda see where he is coming from. But like others said, its not any less of a machine than when you bought it.

Edit: Make that 7. I need a Macbook Pro soon, and after the (maybe) updates, we will see.

Make that 8. I've been coming to this forum for ages now reading only this thread to get the latest news about the redesigns etc. About time I registered. :Smirk:

I, like many others, am waiting for the latest news on the redesigns before buying a MacBook. For the pure fact that you get more geekpoints if you have the latest model.

I'm more of the opinion that my macbook will do fine until I can get something else - may as well make that a nice shiny new something else rather than the same again.

I have been waiting for a true upgrade to the MBP since December. If they fail to release a full redesign at WWDC, I am going ot say F it and just buy the current model. Windows is so crappy, I can't wait any longer to get rid of it!

I bought my MBP when they updated last, because I thought that was going to be it for a while. If the pics are legite, I will be glad I got the one I did. The slight speed increases don't bother me so much, but if they add any crazy features, I might be a little disappointed, but only slightly. If they add an SD slot card reader, or something of the sorts, I might feel a tiny bit of regret.

At the same time, I am very glad I got mine when I did (March). I originally was going to wait until August to get it, but it was driving me nuts. I put the MBP through quite a bit of use already, and haven't even begun to tap into what I can do with it. I will get plenty of great use out of it this summer instead of waiting for a redesign and still chigging away on the 2004 Toshiba PC I had.

If what pictures are legit? Are there mock ups of the redesign that I don't know about?!?!?! Please clue me in!!!

Its hilarious looking back on threads like this from times past and seeing how much of people's wish lists come true. Apple insider seems to be pretty accurate though so lets hope so. I've just worked enough overtime in 2 weeks so pay for the top spec 17" macbook pro and get paid at the end of june!! So here's hoping........

Laptop blu-ray readers retail at about £160 which is about £130 more than straight DVD recorders (about $250). They are however tray loaders which is not ideal. Blu-ray recorders in full size are about £150 now ($300ish). As the price is coming down it is looking more likely that it will be an option but the media is still silly expensive!

Quad core mobile processors? They are on the roadmap, could they become a reality on the macbook pro? - who knows!

Latest gen processors? - Well yes thats likely with a small increase in speed!

More ram? - Unlikely but a shame!

Faster graphics option - Likely but small increment!

Lets hope the timing is just right!!!

Unless Steve Jobs has joined Mac forums we will all have to sit around discussing it and guessing until we find out for definite.
