Great thread guys. I recently switched to a Mac and can say with hand on heart it was the best decision I've ever made!

Keep up the good work.

Another "cheers" to the forum and the Mac community as a whole online. I'm looking to replace my current laptop later this year and I always do a lot of research into what my next machine is going to be. Boot Camp is one of the final hurdles I've cleared in my mind and I'm going to make the switch when it's time to pick up the replacement. In the interim, I've read up on all things Mac (especially Macbook Pro) and OS X. The more I learn now, the easier the switch will be when I actually buy the MBP. There's a lot of excellent information online regarding making the switch and how to do something in OS X that you used to do in Windows.

It's not easy waiting, but I'm sure the payoff will be well worth it. Looking forward to the switch.

I would like to make one little addition here. There are a lot of new users who ask questions like what type of ram should I get for a certain Macintosh. Or what specifications does a certain Mac have. And I think this app should be a standard in every "what apps to mac users need" list.

It is called "Mactracker". And is lists every mac that was ever made and very useful information on each one + more useful tidbits of information.

http://mactracker.dreamhosters.com/

A quick search of this app would eliminate a lot of questions new mac users have.
