EDIT: I just figured out that the Aussie is a Canadian expat. So, you're welcome?

But REMEMBER he is OURS now lol
We have a great history in claiming other countries people as our own, just have to look at Rugby Union and cricket.
To those that dont know cricket is a little like baseball but we dont run around bases ;P We only have to run 22yards from one end to the other.

There is still a long way to go in the Olympics though. Bring on those medals

No no no. You're acting like your people already own the gold medal.
Not at all. That's why I had the wink on the end. I'm very well aware of the fact that we may not get it - a look at the 2006 mens results is evidence enough.

But REMEMBER he is OURS now lol
You can have the silver medalists. We'll keep the gold medalists. :p

I have no problem in that, fact being he has been and still is world number 1 (shame a gold doesnt do towards world standings) ;)

Have to admit though not sure on his sportsmanship, as when he was beaten he didnt look too happy and i wasnt impressed with his attitude on the mounting the blocks upon receiving his medal. Not a smile anywhere ... Hmmm on thinking more about it, you can have him back lol

Douche-bagg smith is a failure at sport. Gracious winning/losing is a big part of competition and he failed hard at it.

W00t, scroll up, I said we'd get a gold in snowboarding and speedskating and we did!

Yes many people failed at the "Gracious winning/losing" part this olympics. Many losers sulked badly and many winners bragged like little children in a hypo attack.

Participating in such a large event with the world watching tends to be conducive to this kind of behaviour especially when, and I don't want to essentialize here, a good portion of the athletes are young. The notion of grace in defeat (and winning) seems to escape many people.

I think there should be a minute silence for all the crashes on the sliding track. One luge athlete died. As we all know. I think it was luge. Plus I saw so many bobsleds just turn over and the people inside were like a pinball inside a machine rattling around on their heads to the end of the track. Very dangerous to me. And I saw some of the injuries some fo the bobsled athletes got cause of this. Not good at all.

I assume you were watching Hockey? It's 3 20 Min periods with about 15 min between periods (NHL is 17 Min, but this one seemed shorter)

Phenomenal game though, more talent on the ice than I have ever seen at one time, never seen anything like it. It made the Stanley Cup Finals pale by comparison. The last 10 min were a free for all with the Canadians throwing everything they could at Miller (US Goalie) and they almost made it. All the predictions were for the Canadians but in the end it was USA 5 - Canada 3. Not the Gold Medal moment just yet, but it was the first time since the 1960s that a US Olympic Hockey team has defeated a Canadian team in the Olympics, something to be proud of there. In retrospect I wish I had recorded it on my DVR.

Sadly though, it looks like it may be the last. NHL Commissioner Gary Betman is saying the league may cease allowing the pros to play in the Olympics. To bad. A show like todays is not one to be missed by a Hockey fan.

See you in the gold medal round, USA. We won't have our grandpa goalie, we'll bring our athlete.

We'll see. Miller is the best in the NHL right now. In a game like that one, it really all comes down to goal tending.

As much as I'm a Detroit fanatic, Mike Babcock better be hanging his head in shame right now.

Yes, that was beast! She didn't even know what happened until after the race was over lol. I'm pretty sure she is still in the hospital because her injuries are quite severe.

That game was all about the goaltending on both ends - Miller was phenomenal (so was Hiller for Switzerland) and Brodeur was average at best. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the games play out.

As for the avatar baggss, I thought I'd help even it out. ;)
