i got suspicious when it never said error and finished but did not display the last few lines so ran it a 2nd time and it did with the ending lines from the first time appended to the bottom! There is an issue somewhere! Does not do it on any other drive or partition but the BOOT one. Maybe that is the cause the the Onyx Disk errors also.

And sure enough, I just ran it again and this time it did print all the lines! I think you may be right about this being related to the OnyX issue. Thanks again.

Similar issue here. Downloaded the Mavericks version of OnyX and it reports that my disk needs repair. When I boot into the recovery disk and verify my boot partition, Disk Utility tells me the disk is OK.

One other oddity, though, is when I run Disk Utility *from* the boot volume and attempt to verify the volume. The last line that gets printed is "Checking volume information". I don't see the green message that the volume appears to be ok, which I do see when I run from the recovery partition. The log, however, shows this:

2013-11-02 12:23:04 -0400: Disk Utility started.

2013-11-02 12:23:14 -0400: Verifying volume “Terminus SSD”

So I'm wondering why I don't get the green confirmation when running from the startup disk. I don't think it worked that way under Mountain Lion

Interesting! I ran DU from the Startup Disk for a 'live' verification and got exactly the same end result. Thanks for reporting this issue to Apple on our behalf. :)

I had exactly the same result from the new Onyx. Booted the Recovery HD, ran DU and had zero problems. Robooted, re-ran Onyx, it reported problems. Booted from Mavericks install USB Stick, ran DU, reported zero problems. Robooted, re-ran Onyx, reported problems. I think Onyx is not quite ready.

EDIT: I also have the same unfinished Verify problem, so I suspect DU is not working well.

I am sure Apple is working on a fix for that as it's affecting a lot of people. Only does it here like I said above on the boot volume and not the other volumes.

Also A quick note to let you all know I sent Apple a very detailed feedback about this issue.

You are welcome.
Now it doesn't give an error when checking the disk. I still haven't checked Disk Utility in the recovery though.

Awesome!:) Must have been a common error for it to be fixed so quickly.
