Just ordered my 15" Pro. :)

They really rape you with tax. That was an extra $215. :\

I guess I did get a free Touch and printer though.

Are the new 15" Pros 15" exactly or 15.4"? The reason I ask is because I was looking at the Incase sleeves and it mentions it fits up to 15.4".

Move to Delaware :p they don't have Sales Tax. I use to live in MD so that's where I would go a lot to go shopping for clothing.

I live in MD too, I got my MBP from the Montgomery Mall Apple Store. 6% sales tax here now, so I had about $125 in tax on my purchase.

$215? How much was your total purchase, or else where do you live? The MacBooks are actually 13.3" and 15.4", standard LCD sizes. 13" and 15" are just easier to remember, and simpler to market.

What part of MD? I use to live in Bmore. ^-^"
I live in Cali now so the tax is crazy (it's over 8%) compared to the 5% that MD use to be until they jacked it up 1%. >_>"

I live in SC, but what they did is tax EVERYTHING, including the "free" iPod Touch and printer. Which is misleading in my opinion and I didn't know that you could tax online.

Total purchase price was a little over $2,000 before rebates.

Now that I'm thinking about it, will they refund the tax that was on the Touch and printer when I send in my rebate?

The Incase sleeves work pretty well right?

They don't care how you buy it. If the State has sales tax they will find a way to charge you.

That's interesting because I've bought plenty of stuff on Ebay, etc and have never paid a dime in tax.

That cause you are buying it from someone, and they already paid the tax on it. The price that they give you has the tax + shipping calculated on the price probably. >_<"

Northern Frederick County. 8% is crazy. I liked MD's 5% because it was easy to calculate in your head.

I've seen different sales tax methods online. Some places charge you tax only if you are in certain states, so maybe it varies. And it doesn't matter if stuff is "free" after rebate, it is still a sale and is taxed.

They tax you for the "free" ipod and printer because you pay for it and THEN get your rebate. The government could care less about your rebate they will nickel and dime you as much as feasible.
And no Apple will not refund the tax on the touch or printer as that money doesn't go to them. You get your 229 for the touch and whatever for the printer.
I like my sleeve
