if you listen to a lot of live recordings on your iPod you will notice that in between each song there is a gap between when the first song ends and the next song begins, when it is meant to flow like one single track

Im not sure what you mean by live recordings...I know what you are implying about gaps between songs, but I never noticed this in iTunes. It has always been that the last few seconds were cut off of my songs...

its detecting gapless information for use on the new iPods which support gapless playback. iTunes hasn't had problems with gapless playback but iPods have never had it
