What's different is that the new iMac with intel processor is 2-3 times faster than the iMac G5.

That is because we are building in the latest technology, the new intel core duo chip.

It's an amzing chip with two processors on one die, with 2mb L2 cache.

Everything apple is doing is what we call universal.

The new products we released today? They are both universal.
In fact, you just saw them running on intel, because I've been using a new iMac with core duo all morning.
As I mentioned, this is bundled with every new mac.
Our pro apps will be universal in march.
Final cut, aperture and logic pro.

Quark has announced next version of Quark Express is universal.

mwsf: Until all apps are universal, we are shipping a technology called Rosetta, which runs most PowerPC applications completely transparently.
mwsf: Office is not yet universal, but it runs fabulous on Rosetta

We've worked together to make sure current versions of office run well in Rosetta.

We'll be adding sync services, finishing touches on smartcard and spotlight support

We're marking another milestone with Apple. We're formalizing our commitment to this platform with an official agreement to ship new versions of Office for mac for a minimum of 5 years

So, rosetta is going to be a great bridge until we get all the apps universal.
I would encourage all the developers to work even harder and get these apps universal.
